Summary: Officer Suzuki had a dark past but he quickly overcame it and is living the good life as one of the proud members in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Station. What happens after he pulls over someone feisty who has been having a bad couple of…years?
Comments: My first chaptered fic^^ Please be kind to me. It’s been on my mind forever since I see cops on a daily basis…..and then I was pulled over XD == There will be mistakes. Please comment and give me constructive criticism.
Trying to contain his anger, Reita quickly composed himself. Grabbing his notebook with full intention of writing the bastard who ruined his Monday morning a ticket, he unbuckled himself. Reported he was now on duty and that he will be unavailable to the time being; he slowly stepped out of the police cruiser slowly. The cool October air quickly nipped at the wet coffee stain on his shirt; sending a shiver to go down his body and fiery fury to roar back up. Grimacing at the uncomfortable chill, he stood by the cruiser; back against the offender for a minute, to gain his composure back.
Plus, it was unwritten protocol to idle a few minutes and freak the ‘pulled-over’ out.
Simple fun.
Trying to compose his anger did nothing but lock a stone cold expression on the young blonde’s face. Squaring his shoulders and putting on his uniform hat, he turned around and headed towards the black Honda Civic.
As he got closer the horns from the car got louder, spiking the blonde’s temper a fraction of an inch; Noticing the driver putting on lipstick Reita growled, almost baring his teeth, at the nonchalant act. “Is this bitch really putting on make up.” He thought in disbelief.
“License and registration.” Reita said through gritted teeth.
Ruki’s ears perked up when the officer made his presence known finally by his driver side door. Ruki knew the risks of doing this, his heart was beating uncontrollably as a constant reminder of how utterly stupid this is, but he was willing to flirt his way out. Even if his enemy was the nation’s ruler, he’d flirt his way out. Damn him if he gets a ticket. He needed to avoid this ticket like genital herpes and fast, he still had his job to make on time; he well knew Mr. Smith, his boss, was at his limits with him and his insufficiency.
“Good morning, officer.” Ruki said with his best sultry voice he can muster.
Reita’s eyes became bug eyed after hearing the voice of the driver. A very male driver. The very deep and unmistakably male voice caught Reita off guard but he quickly gained back his composer.
“License and registration.” Reita tried again and this time with a little warning in his voice. After finding out the driver wasn’t female, he didn’t have to tip-toe around wording. Yes, he’s a police officer and do not discriminate between male and female but it’s hard for Reita to drop the, as the women in the office say, ‘almost Tom Hiddleton worthy level of gentlemen.’ Whoever that is? Sounds like a European monarch. Maybe he’s a fictional character from some kinky top selling book. Forcing himself out of his head, he stared the driver square in the eye, catching the painted crimson lower lip of the driver jut out in a small pout. He’s not going to do anything stupid is he?
Ruki was put aback. His sultry voice always worked. He always worked; even in times he didn’t want it to work. Do you know the amount of groping I get from strangers on a daily basis? I once got my hand held by a random 4 year old boy on the train and proposed to, as he put it, ‘be my pink power ranger?’ I don’t know who freaked out more; me, his mom, or the boy from being rejected. I don’t live life looking forward to breaking 4 year old’s hearts or flirting my way out of a ticket; shit just happens. Life happens.
Tightening his grip on the steering wheel, Ruki became angry. So angry, his eyes must be glaring at the cop.
‘Years and years I put up with this shit!
Kissing ass, trying not to kick some for the sake of not losing my job.
Shitty bosses. Shitty employee. Shitty pay!
BILLS!
And now a fucking hot shot cop who looks like he just joined the force is trying to fucking ticket me?! I mean, do they give away jobs like that easily?! Maybe I should fucking join!’
As Ruki was thinking this he watched the Officer’s face contort into one of shock; by the time Ruki realized he was having an all out very vocal rant, Reita’s face shifted to pure anger.
‘Just joined the force? Who the fuck does this kid think he is? I worked my ass--….you know what.’ Reita thought and took a deep breath, ‘I don’t need this.’ He finally concluded in his head.
“Step out of the vehicle, sir.” Reita all but bit out.
“I-I’m sorry! I didn’t mean t-“
“I’m going to say this one more time sir, step out of the vehicle.” Reita quickly cut off the shorter man.
Quickly opening the driver side door with shaking hands, Ruki continued to apologize and plead with the officer.
“I didn’t mean to say those things. I didn’t mean to ram into you. I’m sorry. Can we please forget about this. I-I need to be at work and I’m already late.”
Reita has heard some pretty absurd excuses in his time on the force but he never had anybody give him the, ‘can we hurry it up?’ speech. So like the asshole that he is, he took his time.
“Please step forward and cross your hands behind you Mr.-“
“Takanori. Matsumoto, Takanori. Please officer, it’s all a misunderstanding. This isn’t necessa-“
But before Ruki can finish what he was trying to say, Reita grabbed his writs, twirled him around and slammed him into the car.
“What the fuck!” Ruki shrieked. “I did nothing wrong!” Ruki shouted as he struggled to get out of the hold.
Digging his forearm more into Ruki’s body, Reita started to cuff Ruki’s wrists. “You assaulted a police vehicle. You refused to show me your license and registration. You refused to get out of your car. You insulted a police officer. And now you’re resisting arrest. Mr. Matsumoto you have the right to remain silent.” As Reita started to read Ruki his Miranda rights, the struggling stopped.
Ruki tried not to cry and also tried not to let the rough treatment and gruff voice near his ear affect him down south. He had dignity, damnit! ‘I can’t believe this is happening!’
After putting the defeated brunette in the back seat of the car, the blonde went over to the car and lifted the hood up. Quickly, he pulled something out to stop the blaring horn. Going back to the car, he reported what happened back to dispatch. Taking a glance in the rear view mirror, he was surprised to find the fiery brunette calm and in his seat.
Sitting in the back seat of a police car is not how Ruki wanted to start off his day. Hell, he didn’t ever want to be in the back seat of a police car EVER. ‘I probably lost my job already,’ he thought to himself. ‘Are cops supposed to treat you like this? This is ridiculous, he treated me like a gun slinging homicidal maniac! ‘
Every defeated pore in Ruki’s body lit a fire again. Tired. He was tired of being treated wrong. From a cop, nonetheless. ’I’m already being arrested. What the hell.’ Ruki thought.
--
Watching the road and listening to dispatch, Reita felt how the air changed. The thickness of anger thick in the air, and then he heard it.
“What the fuck is your problem?” He heard from behind him. Words coated, soaked, maybe even born from his English college professor’s blood.
“Mr. Matsumoto, believe it or not, the Miranda rights are supposed to protect you and that whole ‘you have the right to remain silent’ is a suggestion with an undertone that says, ‘charges can still add up so shut your yap.” Reita all but sing songed into his rear-view mirror.
After blinking away the initial shock, Ruki erupted, “I know what the fuck the Miranda rights are, the meanings behind the words, and hell, I can even tell you about the fucking court case that led to the combinations of those words. Do not belittle me, you bottle blonde piece of shit.”
I probably know the law system better than this blonde. Ruki thought bitterly
“You catch that, boys.” Reita spoke into the radio in his hand with an amused grin.
“Wow, he’s angry.” A voice buzzed through
“I don’t blame him.” Said another in a tired voice.
“How come you always get the good ones.” One laughed through the radio.
“I’m lucky?” Reita suggested
“I’m right here! And what are you doing? You can’t do this!” Ruki shrieked as he got closer to the mini fence between the front and back seat.
“Get back, Matsumoto.” Reita lost the grin and warned.
Ruki sat back into the seat with a very loud huff.
“Get back? He’s even physical?” A voice buzzed with disbelief
“Nah. He’s just feisty. I got a full head on him. Nothing I can’t handle.” Reita buzzed back with confidence laced with amusement.
“Fuck you.” Ruki mumbled into his chest as he crossed his arms.
“I’m sorry, what was that Matsumoto?”
“Ducks are cute.” He seethed through his teeth as he looked up at the officer.
Reita gave a light-hearted chuckle, “Well, I’m glad you finally realized you're in the presence of the law, the law you know so well that is, to cover up your potty mouth.” Reita gave a wink to his backseat.
After driving in silence for awhile Reita decided to break the ice.
“So, rough morning?”
Hearing something eerie between a shriek and a strangled cat, Reita took it as a response to his question and kept at it.
“How important is this job that you’d use it to get out of a ticket?”
“Important like you being charged for negligence on those horrid roots.”
“Ouch. Was that supposed to hurt my feelings?”
“No. If I was going to insult you, it would involve the mentioning of your nose.”
Grimacing at Ruki’s response, Reita lightly touched his nose.
“You know, you’re not helping your situation right now.” Reita growled at his passenger.
“Why does it matter? I’m getting a ticket and I probably lost my job, so why not get my few cents in. And I don’t give money away like that.” Ruki spat at the driver. Literally.
Reita gave an irritated sigh out as he wiped the spit on the back of his neck. “Ok. That’s gross and it’s also assault, if you didn't know. Oh yeah, you knew already I’m guessing. Because you know the law so much, like the Miranda rights, correct?” Giving a pointed look to his passenger.
“You have no idea.” Ruki said as he crossed his arms and looked out through the window.
“Look.” Reita started as pulled up on a familiar road.
“I can see you’re having a bad day and I’m a victim here.” He said as he dramatically wiped away the lone, nonexistent tear away.
Ruki scoffed at the action, “Try bad year.”
“Whatever the reason, I’m sure you’re a decent human being who knows how to act like one. Everyone has an off day.” The blonde said as he pulled up behind a familiar black Honda.
Ruki sat up straight in his seat. “Wha-“
“I don’t do this often but I checked your records Matsumoto, you’re clean. And from your die hard efforts in trying to make it to your job, I’m sensing a little trouble in that area too.” The tall blonde said as he faced Ruki with his arms resting on the back of his seat.
“Why.”
Turning around and reaching for his door, “Contrary to the popular belief that cops are assholes who like to sling anybody into jail,” Getting out of the car and slamming the door closed. He opened the door that’s closed on Ruki and continued, “paperworks a bitch.”
Ruki snorted as he leaned against the police vehicle, the blonde behind him working on un-cuffing him. “So I guess you’re a donut shy of the stereotypical coffee and donut toting, lazy ass image cops have.”
Stopping his ministration on the cuffs. “Matsumoto, do you want to go to jail?”
“Hell no.” Ruki said as he swiveled his head towards the towering blonde. “I’m too pretty.”
“Then shut your trap.”
Hearing the clinking of the cuffs, Ruki turned around to face the blonde as he rubbed away the soreness on his wrists.
“Sorry about that, they don’t really make these for effeminate or seven year old wrists.” Reita gave a good hearted chuckle.
“Fuck you” Ruki spat.
Reita just raised his eyebrow at Ruki.
“Ducks are really really cute.” Ruki corrected himself as he looked away with a sneer.
“Well anyways, Grumpy, since I don’t have you in the database because of your refusal in giving me your license and registration.--”
The shorter’s eye twitched at the either intentional or not, mention at the comparison between Ruki and one of the seven dwarves.
“-and not a scratch on my police vehicle. It’s like we never crossed paths.”
Ruki gave a relieved sigh at the blonde’s reasoning to his surefire freedom.
“Though this is definitely a story to be passed down my generation.”
“Be sure to mention I was in a sports car.” Ruki faced the blonde with an amused smirk.
“Oh, I assure you, my grandkids are going to hear about a feisty foreign model in a cat suit.”
“How educational.” Ruki snorted while crossing his arms.
“I do love cats.”
“You disgust me.”
“Yeah, but I’m also hot.”
“Cocky, not a lot of people find that attractive.”
“Probably, but I was assured my hot-ness by a certain someone.”
“Well then hasn’t her head been banged way too many times on those headboards.”
“It’s actually a he.” Reita smirked as he looked down at the shorter.
Holy shit, he’s gay. Ruki thought while he blushed and swallowed.
Watching the Adam’s apple on the shorter’s neck, the blonde continued with a smirk.
“Though I don’t know if his head’s been banged up by a headboard, I’m pretty sure he ate a school full of pissed off teenagers.”
“Huh?” The shorter was brought out of his stupor by the blonde’s statement.
“Yeah, and he’s standing in front of me.”
“Wha--. I-I never said you were hot.” Wide eyed, Ruki stepped a few paces back as he tried to get some space between them.
“Yeah you did, in your little mind-to-mouth rant, you kind of did. I’m flattered.” The blonde flashed his most sarcastic smile at Ruki.
“Shut up! Don’t let a non-existent compliment from a person you’ve never met get to you.” Ruki said as he opened his driver side door.
“Right.” The blonde stretched the word as he leant against his driver side door.
“Whatever. Goodbye stranger.”
Reita was sure he just saw the smaller man give a teeth-full of smile but that may be his un-caffeinated mind playing tricks on him. Chuckling and shaking his head at watching the shadow of the driver smack the dashboard a couple of times, Reita too got inside his vehicle.
Smirking, Reita drove by the beat up Honda and saw the shorter man sink down in his seat.
“Cute.”
