Got a new coworker this week, who joined my team. Well, officially it's not my team, as I'm just the "team coordinator", but practically it is. I now got the largest team (ok, just six people, but still) of the company, and also the most heterogenic team. I got guys and gals, some are in their early twenties others in their fifties, some don't speak English well and others don't speak German well, some are great programmers, others are not, some learn quickly, others don't. I got a lot of praise from HR for me leading the team, including a 12% salary raise and 3 more vacation days a year. I'm still a bit underpaid, but now not quite as much. The newest addition to the team is a very geeky guy in his mid forties (likes sci-fi movies and pen & paper RPGs). When I said "bye" to the coworkers for leaving the office and getting into the weekend, he shook my hand vigorously and said that it wasn an honor to spend the week with me. oO

I noticed earlier this week, that I still got a couple of cinema coupons left. Actually two film coupons and two food coupons for the cinema. And I noticed that the coupons are also valid in a slightly more fancy cinema (you got actually leg space, your own arm rests, can put up your feet and a waiter brings you snacks or beverages should you so desire). Nice. :) I got the coupons for donating blood. I should make use of them I guess. Now that a few months have passed since I donated blood, I can do so again. I originally planned to do so today, but I went to bed too late, got up too late, and now I'd have to rush there, without having had anything to drink yet. Last time I nearly passed out, and I don't want to repeat that. Well, next week then.

On Monday I'll have an appointment at my bank, regarding a loan. I found a flat that is nice and available for sale. It's very spacious (for me), I really like the layout, it has a big balcony, is quiet, windows go out to some lawn and trees and a building (but no street), I like the location (well, the location is not perfect, but great for the cost, anything better would get far more expensive). It's also new, the building is still under construction. The only thing I'm not perfectly happy with is, that the flat is on the first floor (so one floor above ground floor). I'd like to have a flat that allows me to have the full sky above me when I am on the balcony, but eh... Considering the living situation in Cologne, unless you are filthy rich, perfect is difficult to find. I doubt I can afford the flat, as my bank doesn't know yet of my recent salary increase, but I will talk to the bank anyway on Monday. If I get the flat: time to get super nervous and excited. If I don't: eh, fine too, more time to look and save money.

I noticed a while ago that my old Magic card collection is worth a lot. So I spend a couple of hours now sorting cards. First I went through all my cards and picked out any that might be worth something, and now I sorted them into expansions and themes. Today I will do a third sort, and then I should be done with that. Next I will take photos of all the stacks, list them and the card quality and note the estimated value. That will take a bit. Once that is done, I will put them on ebay. The rest of my cards I will probably give to a friend, who has a son who is into magic. I don't know if they want them, but I will find somebody to take them.

On KS I now got to choose whether to support a certain game or not. Reasons to support it:
- It's sci-fi.
- I like the miniatures.
- It's a bit of a more stream-lined version of a game I have. Considering that a lot of people I know are not really into learning new medium difficulty or complex games, that should make it easier to get it to the table.
- One of the addons allows me to make use of miniatures from other games I got.
- Lots of KS exclusive content.
- Reliable company.
- Game should be fun.
- It got characters referring to characters I like from literature and film (Spock from Star Trek, Marvin from the Hitchhikers Guide, an entire expansion about Alien).

Reasons not to get it:
- Costs money (between 100$ for core game (including shipping) up to 280$ (for all addons and expansions including shipping).
- Takes up shelf space (if I'd get the new flat, that wouldn't be much of a problem though).

Exchanging messages at times with Meghan. I like that.
