Social Life
Tuesday I was out with squad members. We went to a Brauhaus and then to the one or other pub. It wasn’t awesome but still nice.

Thursday I met with some coworkers and a former coworker. She (the former coworker) was super happy to see me, and I liked her company too, so that was nice. We went to an argentinian barbecue place, that wasn’t cheap, but interesting and tasty. At first, the one coworker was worried, that he won’t get enough food for his money, but the waiters came more quickly with new food than you could eat up. Every couple of minutes „Some black beans? Rice? Lamb? Chicken? Sausage maybe? What about some grilled bell pepper? Try this grilled pineapple?“ Afterwards we had a walk, then sat down for some drinks. So, that was nice.

Tomorrow it’s Elfys birthday party. I’m not really into birthday parties, but it’s Elfys party, so I’ll go there. I’ll greet some people, have some food, have some small talk and what else you do on such events.

Wanted to date a woman, but she takes a long time to reply, and this has been going on for a while, and I'm just getting somewhat bored. Let's either say hello in person or let's not, why does it require weeks of unfrequent messages?

Work

Been quite stressful these days. Let’s see how that develops.

One of the plants on my desk at work clone itself, so I got an additional pot with soil to the office and gave the clone its own pot. It’s still connected to the mother plant.

There is a conference soon that I like to attend and that I attended twice before. It’s in Hamburg and lasts two days. I could go there without a problem, however, a number of coworkers would also like to go there, but because of the personal education budget system, a lot of coworkers can’t afford it. Meh… Two coworkers will most likely join, but as I am the most motivated to go there, I have to organize this stuff. At this point, I’d just prefer it to go there all by myself. No constantly asking who wants to join and how and whatever, just get the conference ticket, hotel and train, and that’s it. Everything always gets so stressful and complicated when other people are involved.

Life
Started to look for a flat. I found one that is actually not too bad. It’s in a quarter that is next to a quarter I’ve been living in for ten years earlier in my life, so I know the rough area. It’s not right within the city, but still close enough to bike to the city, and has a really good tram connection. The forest isn’t too far away either. The flat is in a building still constructed. It’s of course quite expensive, so I don’t know whether I could afford it, we’ll see.

Hobbys
Playing computer games with a coworker these days. It’s fun. But I should play less computer games, as I miss painting miniatures.

I recently supported a KS campaign for 1$, and soon have to decide what to do about it. I got those options:
1) Leave it at 1$.
2) Get just the core game plus shipping. (incl. shipping about 90$ to 100$)
3) Get the core game plus some addons that I like (like between 120 and 200$ depending on the number of addons).
4) Get everything but those addons that I don’t like at all (about 300$).

The game is a „streamlined“ version of a game I already own. So instead of controlling three characters at once, you control just two. A couple of rules have been removed, like blocking the path of other players, quicker setup, shorter campaigns. So, I already have the more complex version of the game. It offers more strategies, longer arching campaigns and so on, and is a super popular game (haven’t played it often though). So this one is a bit like an introduction, or if you play with people who don’t want to invest all that much time. The setting is also different: this new version is sci-fi, the original one fantasy.

Reasons not to get it:
- expensive (80$ to 300$ or more)
- it’s somewhat similar to the original game I already got
- I got enough miniatures to paint
- no objective reviews of the game exist, only paid ones
- I wanted to save more money

Reasons to get it:
- I like sci-fi settings
- it has references to Star Trek, Blade Runner, Alien and the like
- it has a lot of exclusive content, so if you decide to get the game later in retail, you will miss like 40% of the content that you now get for free
- due to all the exclusive content, it should have quite some resell value, in case you don’t like it
- I don’t „need“ it
- it could be a nice entry game into the series. like, play this first, and if people like it, go to the deeper version next
- lots of minis to paint
- it has an optional addon with a new game mode, that allows you to make use of characters of other games of that company, and I got those games, so that might be fun and add diversity
- the company and creators of the game are very well known and normally deliver really good games

I’m proud of myself, in so far as I did not support the last few KS campaigns that interested me. Yay me! But this one? I’m unsure. It’s so tempting.
