Starting this Sunday, I started having rather routine hallucinations of a partiuclar type. I already hallucinate frequently, but there is a great deal of variation in them - everything from simple suggestions of motion to full-on spectral forms that can withstand a certain degree of direct gaze. I'm used to that. This new sort of hallucination is a distortion point or a mote of light or shadow. Generally occuring slightly above or below my line of vision, the distortion points look a lot like there was a tiny warp in space at that location, with everything around that point looking stretched toward the center of the point. When I notice this distortion consciously, it almost immediately colapses into itself. The motes of light or shadow are similar in visual location. The light motes have a bright center and a radiance around them. The dark motes have a black center and a hazy cloud around them. Just like the distortions, looking at these points makes them vanish quickly.
The one exception in these experiences is that one of the shadow points moved rather than disappearing. I was in the kitchen, I noticed it down towards the floor, so I turned my eyes down towards it. At that point, it dashed out of the room, down the hall toward the living room, disappearing from view. That one was the most like a thing, rather than some sort of random visual effect.
So far, these visions are not causing me to have any particular feeling, other than the fact that I am noting them, and they seem different from previous experiences. I don't feel nervous or threatened or pleased. I do have a mild sense of presence. Like someone is there, looking on.
