I know what to do when a family member dies. The family and friends come together--to sit shiva, to cry and laugh and remember. Time for Cam's MRI again. Time for those 24 hours of  anxiety, anger and the little frisson of fear one must beat back into its sealed box beneath your soul.

It is not so big, really. The risk of general anaesthesia on a healthy boy are tiny. He's had clear MRI's for 1 1/2 years now--it may very well never come back.

13 more years to go.

My dad would have been 75 today. And he always was “Dad,” never “Father.” A father is a manly person who doesn’t like to show his feelings. His biggest praise is to cuff you on the shoulder and say, “Good job, son”, but deep down you know he loves you. Now forget that image-that wasn’t my dad.

 Doing a science fair project is a requirement for Number One Son's 7th grade science class. He is s a "big picture" guy; meaning he has the vision and would rather the details take care of themselves. As disturbing as the national results were--and I saw some pretty disturbed things happening last night --I am truly worried about the Minnesota results. King Tim P. has autocratically run the state into the ground for the last 8 years, with  only the minor speed bump that has been the Democratic State Legislature.
