Five thoughts after my second viewing of "Billy"

1) Gunn doesn't have much of a part in this one, but he deserves a huge freakin' hug, a bottle of pain meds, and a popsicle or three for what he did.

2) Maybe it's that I spent all day at work being appalled, disgusted, pissed off, annoyed, and bewildered by how terrible Angels and Demons is, or maybe it's that I have spent the past two years working the scenes up in my mind to be bigger than they were, or maybe it's that I know what happens and the anxiety is lessened, but the chase was not as traumatic as the first time.  Not by a long shot.
(There is one very good reason why I should have been MORE traumatized: The first time, I was absolutely _certain_ it was just Billy.  Now "I don't know what kind of man I am anymore" seems more like a legitimate concern.)

3) What was every bit as traumatic and more was the final scene.  He wasn't my Whedon boyfriend yet last time around, and I didn't know what all was coming for him.  AS3 is going to absolutely break my heart this time through, I know it.  As rough as it was the first time, I didn't know what would come of it...

4) I bloody freakin' LOVE Cordelia.  It's so easy to forget that, considering which episodes I gravitate to and how shamefully she was misused toward the end*, but I really, really do love her.  She kicks massive amounts of booty in this episode alone (...even if she does end up standing back and waiting to be rescued in the end...which is what happens to all the best characters when they play lieutenant to Captain Forehead.  Meanwhile, Fred spends the whole episode running away and seeming all damsely, but manages to make that look kinda badass, too.  I heart the women of the Whedonverse, in case you couldn't tell.)

5) Alexis Denisof is just an astoundingly good actor.

* Not that the storyarc wasn't intriguing, in a Sick and Wrong sort of way, just...it was not in the character's best interest.

We discovered a couple of weeks ago that Lorne seems to also be a Weetabix addict.  At this rate, I should get rid of the rest of the box two or three hamsters from now.  (I've still got all but a pound left from the pound that was removed from the box.  And at some point in the near future, I really should do something WITH that box, so I don't just have a flattened, autographed bit of cardboard packaging lying about my room waiting to accidentally be recycled.)
