No longer a teenager.

I still can't believe I am two decades old. But it was the best birthday ever!

The extravaganza started the night before my birfday. Because he couldn't see me on the big day, Trent came over and gave me a surprise picnic dinner! We went to a park and had three kinds of sandwiches, iced tea and dessert. It was all delicious. Trent said it took him six hours to make everything. Six hours of wub... how can you beat that?

The next day, Mum made me a birthday breakfast (scrambled eggs, lawl) and packed me a birthday lunch. Oh wait, you guys don't know about my campus this year. We're downtown, and the facility has a breakroom with a fridge and microwave for packed lunches. (It was so great, the guy eating across from me yesterday had a PB&J and an apple.) So yes, I had a sandwich and an OJ juicebox, and Mum included a "Happy Birthday" note inside.

When I got home from school, I saw everyone's birthday wishes on Facebook. It was awesome seeing notes from people I haven't seen in a while, like Britney and Adam. In the kitchen, Mum was making homemade pasta for my birthday dinner. Usually when she makes pasta, it ends up the consistency of Southern dumplings. But I was there this time! I had seen plenty o' pasta making on the Food Network! I knew we had to roll the dough out paper-thin, which she was not pleased about. We covered the entire kitchen in fettuchini strands. Mum looked at me rolling and flouring and cutting away, and called me a "little pasta maniac." It came out just right, though.

Then we opened presents. Mum and Pum got me a couple cookbooks, Corpse Bride, and the Buzz Ballads CD. Stevie and Marie got me a disco ball!! YES!! It's for our raves. Then Mauricio called me, because I had left him a message an hour earlier saying "Happy Birthday!" He was like, "What are you doing right now?" and I was like, "Opening presents." and he was like, "OMG IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY TOO." And we talked for a bit, which was nice. I won't get to see him at all for the rest of college. X(

Then Mum was like, "Do you want a cake?" and I was like, "Yes." And she was like, "We still have that chocolate chip cake in the freezer." And I was like, "We should frost it with ice cream." So we took the pint of coconut ice cream my grandmother gave me as a present, softened it, and frosted the cake. We refroze it and then ate it. It was glorious.

Before hanging up, Mauricio said, "Well, you go back to opening presents with your wonderful family." He's right, I really am lucky. :)

This is like the first entry in a while that is just text. I guess I haven't really bothered to update unless I have new artwork. Maybe I should try to keep you guys in the loop more. Soon I will make a post about my new classes. WHOO!!!
