I worked late today after school on modeling my car in Maya. It's due on Tuesday, and I wasn't up to speed on lighting and animation, so I needed help before the weekend. Kenny spent like three hours helping me on it. We got it pretty much finished, and I just have to clear up a few things with my prof tommorrow. I'm going to Savannah the weekend after this with Stevie, Marie and Trent to visit Tyler, so I have to get everything done this weekend. :O
Anyway! After we finished with my car, we walked together to the parking lot on the far side of the TD Waterhouse center (there's a BMX show coming up soon, so they're going to be filling up our normal parking lot with dirt for the next three weeks). There were two seniors from our school, who we didn't know that well, walking side by side in front of us (a girl and a boy). Kenny was on his cell phone, and I wasn't paying much attention to anything, as usual.
We passed a palm tree somewhere near the ticket office, where two squirrels were apparently mating. Suddenly, one of the squirrels shot out from the tree like a missile and NAILED the guy in front of us in the side of the head. His glasses went flying. It was like the cockpit scene from Snakes on a Plane. It was so funny; the girl was practically in tears. Kenny was still on the phone, and yelled, "Dude, you just got violated by a squirrel!!!" Then he paused and said into the reciever, "No, not you."
After that, Kenny and I walked with the two seniors. This was when I discovered that the guy was British! He was talking and I was like, "Do you have an accent?!?" and he was like, "Yeah," and I was like, "THAT IS THE COOLEST THING EVER." Why isn't there a British guy in our class? Although, the characters comprising our group probably make up for it.
Oh, and we have a class that teaches us the business side of animation. We had to give pitches yesterday. My group had to pitch an animated show idea to Spike TV. We came up with "Ninja and Ed," which is about a pirate and a ninja rooming together in Miami. Everyone agreed our idea and pitch was the best. :D I got to do the
character designs:
Alexis blew it up at Kinko's and used it for our poster. It looked righteous. There just isn't another word for it. When Eunice first looked at it, she asked me if I had done it. When I responded in the affirmative, she said, "I knew it." That boosted my confidence more than anything, because even though I was going for a very different, very "crisp" animation style, my own style still came through! And I didn't even know I had a style!
Wheeeeeeeeee!!
