Well, this was a fic I started a long time ago.. I posted it on this one website during Summer, but received no comments, plus the fact that I lost inspiration, so I decided to just discontinue it at chapter 1 :/ There were a couple people who commented about 5 months after I stopped writing this saying that they really liked it, and I'm very appreciative of that, and sorry that I can't continue this xP

---
“Oi, Sho! Hurry it up or we're gonna' go ahead!”, I hurriedly put on my white leather jacket before checking myself in the mirror one last time, fixing my hair a bit, then ran towards my friends who were waiting outside on the pavement of the sidewalk.
“Ittekimasu!”, I yelled to no one in particular before running out the door, and locking it behind me. I jumped over my five-step porch and landed on hard concrete. “Safe!” I looked up to see that my once waiting friends were now gone from sight. I looked to my left and saw them walking, seeming like they didn't care they left me behind at all. “Oi! Wait up you guys!” I ran as fast as I possible could until I finally caught up to them. I bent over and placed my hands on my knees as I gasped for air. I never was really good at sports. “You guys co-could've just waited for a-another minute.” I coughed a few times.
“Che, 'cause you took so long!”, he laughed and purposely slapped my back, hard.
“Itte!” I almost fell on my face. “Mou, give me a break, guys! It's my birthday after all, take it easy on me!” That's right. January 25th. Today was my 24th birthday. To me, it feels like every year, I go through the same routine. Just hanging out with my friends and getting drunk. I wanted something to happen this year. Something exciting. But it looks like matters were repeating themselves again. “Ah! Where's my present?” I held my hand out awaiting an object to be placed on it. They looked at each other, then did what I knew they would do. Run. I laughed as I chased them down the street, although I knew I would probably never catch up.
“Ah, where's my neko, MeowMeow?!” I almost choked from the smell of his breath. I tried to properly guide him to the taxi waiting around the curb. My other friends followed behind, also laughing like idiots. In the end, all we did was get drunk again. I did drink, but not enough to be out of it like certain people. I rolled my eyes as I adjusted the body that was leaning on me. “Ahaha! Sho-kun's finally 42 years old! Woo! Happy Birthday Sho!” I breathed a sigh of relief as I finally reached the yellow vehicle. I hoisted him onto the back seats and made sure my other friends got in as well.
“First of all, I'm 24. And you guys need to get some good rest. Stay safe, okay?”
I gave the driver directions and money, then sent them off. I heard another “I love you, Sho-kun!” as the car sped away.
“Ah, I should really get new friends.”, I chuckled under my breath. I turned around and walked with the gleam of the full moon that was out tonight to guide me. I turned at the alleyway. There's pretty much nothing to here here, except a trail of murky water that traveled all the way through, walls on both sides, and some smelly dumpsters. “Although I take this route everyday, it still gives me the creeps.”, I whispered this to myself as I dug my hands into my jean pockets. “Brr.. it's freezing today.” I rubbed both of my arms attempting to keep warm. Another birthday passed by, and as expected, nothing interesting happens. I looked up and saw that the exit was only about 5 meters away. I sped up my pace a tiny bit. “Yay, almost hom- What the?!” I jumped back. Okay, maybe I'm hallucinating, but I swear a giant thing just fell out of the sky. I looked above, but there was nothing. Only pure night sky. As I turned my gaze back to the ground, I soon made out certain movements of a mysterious shadow. It looked like it was getting up. “E-Eh, Are you okay?” I don't know why, but I felt like it was something that would be able to understand.
“Ah, sorry. Yes, I'm fine.” After it walked forward some minor steps, I found that 'it' was not an it at all. A human. Getting a closer look, he was a bit taller than me with a slender body. He was clothed in a black wool sweater with a dark red scarf wrapped loosely around his neck. His hair was darkish brown that hung just slightly above his shoulders, but not enough that he would be mistaken for a girl. He smiled, and for the first time I stared into his eyes.
“E-Eh? Red?”, I whispered under my breath as I rubbed my eyes. I looked up again. His eyes were chocolate brown. What was that? My mistake? But I could've sworn..
“Excuse me?”, my head jerked over in the direction of this sharp, but unique voice that kept ringing in my ears.
“Ah, nothing.” I was probably just staring at his red scarf for too long. I smiled as I concluded myself with the final statement. “Just talking to myself.” I laughed nervously. He smiled at me again, and for reasons I can't really understand, I felt like my heart was about to stop. Then, I remembered the incident that took place only several minutes ago. “Umm.. earlier..” I pointed upwards, hoping he was would understand without me having to explain.
“Oh, it's nothing you have to worry about.” His words confused me. Nothing I have to worry about? This guy just plunged from the sky! Oh that's right..
“Okay, then... Are you injured anywhere? That must have hurt..” I darted my gaze up and down his figure.
“No, I'm fine. Thank you for asking.” I felt like the words he was using and how he was saying them sounded too formal, but I didn't speak my thoughts.
“Oh, okay then. Are you sure? I mean you fell out from-”
“Well, then.” He bowed slightly and walked past me. What was that? Did he just ignore me?
Being the stubborn person I was, I turned around ready to protest.
“Hey! I was just- ..Eh?” I looked around. He was gone. I just knew that this was not possible. I stared straight down to the other side of the alleyway, but clearly, no one was here except me. Where did he go? I must be looking like an idiot, just standing here staring off at what is literally nothing, but I can't help but wonder where a person could've disappeared to in the period of merely seconds. I shook my head and tried to just forget about it, but it felt like the thoughts were somehow engraved into my mind. I ended up thinking about it the whole way home.
I tossed my jacket somewhere on the floor and flopped onto my bed. I can't stop thinking about what happened. Where did he fall from? Red eyes? How did he vanish so quickly? Well, at least now I can finally say that today was a heck of a birthday. I flipped onto my belly and yelled into my pillow. Why do I even have to endeavor over this? Over someone I don't even know? I slowly drifted to sleep with these notions that filled up in my head.
'Papa? Mama? Where are you?' Off in the distance a little boy was crying whilst tightly clutching to his left side a brown teddy bear. 'Where are you?' His sobbing never stopped. He got up and walked towards a door. His hands slowly lifted to turn the knob.
“Don't open it!”
He shifted it slowly and opened the door. 'Mama? Papa?' Two bloody bodies lay in the center of the room, hands overlapping each other seeming like they were just horribly dumped there. Blood was practically splattered everywhere. The boy looked around the room as he took in all the red, before turning back. 'Mama?! Papa?!' The boy shook his dead parents as he screamed in tears at the dreadful sight in front of him.
“AH!”, I sat straight up staring at my white wall ahead as I felt myself breath heavily. I was covered in sweat and I felt so hot to the point that I wanted to go to Alaska. “What was that nightmare? It couldn't have been me.. so who was it..” I lay back down and placed my arms over my eyes. What's happening to me?
'A.Ra.Shi. - A.Ra.Shi. - For dreaam~' I heard my phone ringing inside the little drawer that stood next to my bed. I slid it open and looked at the caller I.d. “The drunk has finally called.” I chuckled and flipped it open. “Hello?”
“Sho! Sorry about yesterday, dude. We sort of drank too much..” Ya' think?
“Oh, sure. No problem.”
“Well, putting that aside, it's your shift today at HC right?” Expected.
“Today's Saturday, so yeah, my shift.” Can't he even remember the day? Hangover?
“Oh, right. Just makin' sure. Talk to ya soon then.” That's all? What a friend he is. I sighed and looked at the clock.
“Shiz! It's already 8?!” I quickly dressed, and ran down the stairs. “Ittekimasu!” I yelled again to no one.
I finally arrived. 'Hikari Cafe' is where I work part-time, but most of us just call it HC out of our convenience. I love it here. It's a small little cafe, and it was calm and it helped me relax. It's not the best pay that I could get, but my boss is nice, and we all work here on different days. I ran to the back room and put on my brown apron that had the words 'Hikari Cafe' labled across the top, along with my name tag in the upper left corner. I went back to the counter and took in a deep breath. “Phew, made it in time.” I looked out, not that many customers, but there were people here and there laughing happily drinking coffee, while talking to their partners. The chime near the front door chimed, “Good morning! Welcome to Hikari Ca-” I stared at the being before me. “You!” I pointed rudely, but quickly put it back down as I fixed my composure.
“You're from last night!” The man from yesterday completely surprised me with his cheery voice. He frantically ran towards me. “I'm so sorry! I was in a, what could you say.. bad mood yesterday. Sorry! Sorry!” His hands were clasped together like he was praying as he lowered his head towards the floor. Wow. He seems like a completely different person. I guess people do change in the blink of an eye.
“Ah. No, it's okay. I'm sorry too.” I gave him a sort of smile.
He sighed, “I'm so glad! I for sure thought you were mad at me too!” His personality was different, but I could tell his choice of clothing was different too. Yesterday, he was almost dressed all in black, but he was now wearing a bright yellow t-shirt with slightly ripped jeans, and his hair was a bit ruffled. Bed hair? I tried to hold back my laughter.
“Haha, no I wasn't. Just a little confused. Oh, please take a seat.” I led him to one of the empty tables and handed him a menu, but he refused.
“Just some orange juice is fine.” I nodded and placed the order. Orange juice. How cute.
“Here you go. Freshly squeezed.”, I gave him a smile and a wink.
“Thank you.” He raised the cup to his lips and took a small sip. His eyes sparkling with joy, he looked up at me, “Oishi!” I giggled about the fact that he seemed completely like a little boy having the time of his life. He got up and looked at me. “Well, I have to go now.”
“Eh? So fast? But you only drank a little.” I gazed at the abandoned cup of orange juice for a second before giving him full attention.
“Ah, sorry. I'm in a rush. Oh, by the way, what's your name?” He smiled at me.
“Sho... Sakurai Sho.” I looked at him confused, but before I could return the question, he turned his back towards me, went out the door, and disappeared with me standing next to his unfinished cup of orange juice.

Also, this was a banner that a certain generous person made for this fic:
I am fully aware that the "s" in "Drops" was missing, but I didn't feel the need to trouble her after she made this gorgeous banner for me [: And, that is it for this post ! :D
