Feeling the Spirit

I found a new layout for Halloween that I just adore.  I was going to go with one of the basic layouts I've seen about, and adjust the css for a black background, and make my own header, but this! This is just too cute to pass on.  Especially the little lj user icons and community icons, plus the divider.  What could I do but go and install it?
I'm going to go back and browse the designer,
gawariel_design, more, because there are some very original layouts and I'll probably find another after Halloween. I've GOT to start on my Christmas shopping, I'm feeling the pressure a wee bit.
Well, we've had a bit of a rough week, which is why I haven't much felt like doing anything around the net.  I started to redesign my personal website, which for now shall remain unnamed, but I didn't even bother to install a blog.  I did get a bit farther than I thought I would though!  And I was so pleased because I found myself writing decent css code that actually validated. Imagine my shock, I haven't been able to do that for a while now.  However, I cannot seem to get away from using Iframes, which I'm gathering is now no longer "the correct thing". I tried, and it came out looking well, rather wacked.
Anyway.  Our car broke down.  *rolls eyes* Of course this happens right after we pay it off, right? So we had to rent a car and do quite a bit of work on it this week. In the next couple of days, Tony's going to be installing a serpentine belt, and we'll be putting on new tires and a new windshield.  After that, to our knowledge anyway, we'll just need to get the passenger side door plus the little gear that we'll need to custom order for the hatchback to make the lock work properly, and it should be almost as good as new.  Well, maybe we'll eventually get the sidepanel fixed that my nephew, Brent, messed up when he ran it into that fence, in Georgia.  Sometime.
We did manage to also get a new stereo for it this week, which was pretty great.  We needed one of those anyway, that didn't work properly either.  We got one with an hd radio in it, and they weren't kidding when they advertise all those stations hd radio picks up. It's pretty frickin' awesome!
Also, Tony discovered what was wrong with our electrical system.  Apparently there was a spring that was recalled, a small spring that is worth approximately $400!  We got that replaced this week and it now works perfectly, including the horn, gages, and cruise control that were all messed up.
Anyway.
Murphy's Law, we're so plagued with it.  Thankfully we were able to afford the rental car.
Mars is in retrograde (still?), don't you know?  We had some problems with the first rental we got, but that's a long story as well, and I won't go into it now.  I'm due to watch a movie with my husband, so I'll hold off on that.
