I didn't get the DoT job.
I got a letter in the mail saying something to the tune of "Although you were not selected, you are encouraged to apply for other jobs with us..."
I'm a little miffed that I wasn't even interviewed, but I take solace in that it probably means they already had someone picked out for the job and were just posting it for legal reasons.
Whatever. It sweetens the deal on the Coast Guard idea. I may scan the classifieds today and see if anything else catches my eye. In truth, I'd be willing to stay where I am if they'd just pay me a little more (or give me a commission, like we discussed at my last raise negotiation).
Setting up my computer tonight. Going to run to Best Buy on my lunch break to pick up a wireless NIC. I really hope this whole free-wireless-internet-courtesy-of-some-hapless-neighbor thing works out... if not, I'm going to get Mom to call for Roadrunner this week. I'll pay for it -- I don't care. We must have it, precious...
I got a refund for my MCDBA test. I simply have too much going on right now to be able to concentrate on studying. Cancelling that test is a smart move for the time being... I'll get back to it before too long.
