"Squirrel-proof": an ideal, not a reality
My mom has a "squirrel-proof" bird feeder. Among other precautions, the top fastens on so the squirrels can't get into the body of the feeder.
Today I was at her place and what do I see but a minion of Nutsy with his face in the feeder! He had managed to untwist the top somehow and was stuffing his furry cheeks on sunflower seeds.
Mom isn't a minion or devotee of Nutsy like I am, and she won't accept that the squirrel is my totem. So she made me go out and fasten down the feeder so the squirrels can't get into it.
