Day 9 of Death Cold. Still have a hacking cough, and chest pain in my upper left lung. WTF.

Can't call in sick, as we have one manager on vacay, two on their weekend with committed plans or kids to take care of and the only other manager is doing the day shift and sick as well.

Meh.

Working a 9-day stretch, which should be interesting, as I can feel myself fighting off a bug of some sort as well.

Also managed to make 2 comments at work today that made me look like a self-important boob.

Bah.

So. Retail therapy? You betcha.

Just a quick post to say that yes, I am still alive. Training this past month has been fun but intense, with 12-hour days being the norm. I got in Friday night, along with the Cold From Hell and waaayyyy too much loot. Spent most of yesterday sleeping off the worst of the sickness, and now I'm organizing myself for the rest of the training.

This time of the year is hardest for me, as the depression usually takes root and drags me down further into Piscean inaction, lethargy and a melancholy headspace. Well. That went a lot better than I was expecting. We were completely swamped, had to erect a physical barrier of staff to prevent people from falling on the books like a mob and somehow I ended up on the radio for my 1.5 minutes of fame - but it went exceedingly well. I'm still wary about tonight, but at least the major hump is over with.
