The Senate has just voted to repeal DADT. The vote is a filibuster-proof 63-33 majority - a lot of the credit is going to the Pentagon study.

This means that the initiative to repeal could be on the President's desk before the New Year, but there'll be a waiting period, so it could take a while before the policy is actually repealed, but the Senate vote was the biggest stumbling block.

I'm happy to report that Ohio's Republican senator, George Voinovich, broke with the GOP and voted in favor of repeal.
