This is in response to Pixel's "come on, madame, you know you want to, all the COOL kids are doing it too" post about the camera mod that everyone and their eleventyhundred year old granny uses (but not me, I'm behind the times apparently).
Now in my defense, I was definitely going to put this mod in and try it out for my Top Model project. I just hadn't gotten to it yet (*mental note: get the model pose overlay thingie, too).
OK, so I tossed that mod in and got down to the getting down in my favorite testing site, Pleasantview.
First (and this is for pixel) I didn't have a lot of trouble with the neighborhood view. It's different than normal but if you use the scroll wheel, you can whiz right in on stuff (or scroll by going to the edge of the screen OR use the +/- signs). And it's cool how you can pull WAY back and see the whole neighborhood like a weird little island adrift in a sea of blue nothingness.
I only took two test pics, but I like them so here you go.
This was from the neighborhood view. I never realized there was a carousel available in the neighborhood decorations stuff.
I wanted to get RIGHT up on th carousel but couldn't. I think if I tried and tried and TRIED, I might be able to. But this works too (and the horses are all flat, you can see that without getting in super close---and random thought, that carousel totally makes me want to play Roller Coaster Tycoon again).
A-HAHAHAHAHA!!! Tommy Ottomas will destroy YOU!
This was taken from inside the house, while he was rebuffing one of his little sister's sweet hugs (Tommy's not a fan of his sisters).
While in the Pleasantview Ottomas house, I also tried (and did not succeed) to get a pic of Samantha O. painting while coming in from behind the canvas. I wanted to get the WHOLE paintbrush in the shot (so it was cutting across the pic at an angle and some of her spawn were all framed by it) but my hand wasn't steady enough. Unlike the carousel pic, I think it could be done (a few times when I pulled back on it, I saw the whole bristle end of the brush but I just couldn't get the camera to stop in JUST the right spot).
I love how you can get RIGHT up on stuff without having to go into tab mode. I paused the game and was flying up int my sims' eyes and getting down on the floor and inspecting the ugly alien Ottomas twins. This mod is KILLER for getting the low shots.
Perhaps I should take my maiden voyage into Peculiar (haven't been in since installing FT) and snap up some toddler spam? Anyone interested?
