So there has been a lot of shifting in my life. Things haven't been too easy for me, but it's increased my reliance on God and on my friends. I've been doing a lot of growing, and I think I have some semblance of an idea where I'm going. As such, I haven't really done a whole lot with Lolita. It's not something I'm giving up, it's just on the back burner for now. I'll get back into it when I have time to sew again.
In the meantime, I've become good friends with some women I go to church with who do a lot of fiber crafting. These women have been very helpful and a great support system for me during my trials. Through one of them, I've picked up crochet again, and I'm learning how to make bobbin lace. (I am so excited about this!) Eventually I'll start knitting again and I'll start spinning my own fiber. This is turning into an awesome and portable hobby for me, and it's great because I'm getting results.
It's much easier for me to write about crafting than it is lolita simply because I can craft more than I can do lolita. So I'm going to use my blog to talk about being a young person who crafts, things I'm working on, and tutorials for people to get started on things.
This summer, I plan to start working with three fiber/yarn stores in my area and I'll probably start teaching too. (Yay extra cash for when I go off to college!) As I start making stuff, I'll probably also make stuff to sell on Etsy, which will mean that gets dusted off. (I don't really even remember why I made it, so this will give it purpose too!)
And for any of you ravelry.com members, I'm on there now! (
