internet sharing

I have an iMac running tiger connected to the internet using a standard [not wireless] cable modem. i also have a newer MBP running leopard, this conects to the internet thru an airport network hosted by the iMac. in this situation is it normal for the MBP to have a considerably slower net conection than the iMac? assuming the airport reception is ( Read more... )

Internet sharing isn't meant to be a permanent solution, it's just a convenience for when you need to get online quickly through a known good connection without worrying about wiring or setup. You will get much better internet service to the mbp if you invest in a standalone router like Time Capsule.

internet sharing is at its best a short term solution...
wireless router will be very helpful in long run... if you can make your imac wireless you will be a much happier person...
