winter term '06

In January Oberlin has something called a winter term. Its a period of four weeks or so in which you fabricate a project for yourself or choose from a wide array of pre-planned projects to complete before the end of the time period.

For my winter term project I'm going to study with Seth Krimsky, principal bassoon of the Seattle Symphony, who is incredible. His technique is appallingly good. I'm really looking forward to it. I think that we're going to work out some sort of focus on orchestral excerpts, but I hope we work on a good deal of general sort of technical work as well.

So the moral of the story is: I'm going to be in Seattle during January. It's going to be amazing. :)
