Starting with Christmas:
Christmas was good. I went down to Eugene, Oregon almost as soon as I got back from oberin.
Aside: I did have a chance to see the second to last performance of the Seattle Men's Chorus holiday concert before I left. It was incredible, as always. As I've become slightly more musically attuned since last hearing them perform their musical shortfalls have become more apparent. However, I don't think that it detracted from my enjoyment of the concert at all. It is rare that anybody gets to be in a room with as much love as fills all of the SMC concerts. On my way out I heard a woman telling her friend that she was really glad that she was invited to the concert. She said that it was really "what her soul needed." That basically sums up SMC. It was great.
So in Eugene I got a chance to see my aunt and uncle that live down there who I haven't really seen in like three years or something. We ate Christmas eve dinner with them and for Christmas day dinner we drove up to Albany to visit the other side of my family. There were fourteen of us total and the house wasn't terribly large. It was a bit cramped, but I loved it. I got a chance to see some of my cousins who have grown up a lot and my grandmother and some of my aunts. It was a really lovely experience.
For new year's eve, I went to somewhat of a high school reunion party at somebody's apartment. I got to catch up with a whole shitload of my old friends from high school. Perhaps the most notable of which is Madison Brommel, whom I haven't seen in like a year and a half or something crazy like that.
As a footnote, I met several new people who had completely refreshing views of the world. The guy whose apartment the new year's party was at was totally fascinating. He was so incredibly intelligent, but not condiscending at all. I loved it and if I still lived in Seattle I might just stalk him... (jk) Also I met some lovely gay folks at a different party earlier in the week. For a long time I've just assumed that gay people in Seattle all carry the same mentality concerning life. This mentality was one that consisted basically of easy sex and lots o' drugs and abusing yourself and blah, blah, blah. Anyway, the people I met at this party were down to earth, un-steriotypical, clean, good people. I loved it. It basically gave me hope for... life... or something like that.
anyway, that's it for now
