Isn't 42 after all. It's brain bleach. Let me explain...

Via Newscientist according to Conservapedia, E no longer equals MC squared

Read the whole thing - it's boggling. But if you can't/don't want to, here's my brief analysis/piss-take...

Conservaaaaargh!pedia gets on my nerves. Almost as much as the "Left Behind" people. To the point I wrote a brief thing about it.

IN brief, it's a web-site where Good Christians can leave messages to be auto-emailed to those left behind when the Rapture Comes

Hmm, to be honest, I think Conservapedia annoys me more. While the Left Behind people are providing a valuable service (if you believe in that type of thing), Conservapedia is all about suppression of knowledge and the spread of ignorance. Which, as an evil liberal, I'm completely against. Obviously...

I think the thing that really annoys me with the Left Behind people isn't the service they provide, it's all the INTERESTING little corner cases where their service could cause spectacular amusementunintended consequences.

As for your evil liberal ways, I can only say "hear! hear!" (or possibly "I approve").

To date, the most mind-boggling Conservapedia project I've heard opf is the re-writing of the Bible, to take out all the wishy-washy leftisms. Obliviously a Good Idea, innit?

Hmm, yes. It certainly isn't the most secure or advisable thing to do. (What's wrong with leaving it with your lawyer/solicitor, like in all other cases of no longer being on this earth? And everyone knows the lawyers aren't going to be Taken... *G*)

It's more the sheer arrogance of the people running the site, I suppose. How do they know that all four/five couples are good enough Christians in *God's* eyes that the Rapture will trigger the event. Or will whoever is left behind selflessly send out the stuff after the Rapture anyway? I don't notice that being addressed...

Well, if you were a Good Christian Likely To Be Bodily Taken To Heaven When Rapture Comes, would you want to use a solicitor who wasn't?

There are a lot of things Not Catered For. What if the hosting centre has a three-week blackout, the servers come back up and send everything off before they can stop it? Stranger things have happened. I have avague memory of data centres in either Dallas-Forth Worth or Austin being down for a long while and for long-term power outages, all I can say is Auckland (1998, 2006).
