1. Am back. I survived; laptop survived. Now have backup system in place...
2. In some ways, the silence was lovely. I am too good at distracting myself via the interweb.
3. I am utterly lost as regards the current responsibility discussion that's eating fandom, so am going to just keep my distance.
4. My writing is completely stymied at present, mainly because I'm supposed to be sending out the first chapter of my original novel for critique in my next novel-writing class, and I am utterly terrified at the thought of these people reading my work and giving me their honest opinions. The way I've written the chapter is (I suspect) experimental to the point of idiocy, and that's before we even get to the fact that part of it is from the point of view of someone with dementia. So every day, I open up my writing folder and end up doing nothing except tinkering with that. It's getting very irritating.
5. I have recs. If you can't wait for
hp_summergen to start posting, or if you just fancy some good genfic, look no further.

springtime_gen fic again, because hardly anyone on my flist seemed to notice it first time round :P.
Fraternity, PG-13. Summary: Aberforth Dumbledore is very different from his brother. A character study that begins in a Victorian workhouse and ends as the first war against Voldemort looms.
ETA: 7. This post was spared a snarky comment about how I didn't have to explain why Molly and Ginny are awesome, since that seems to have blown over again. (But seriously, Bellatrix = icon of power while Ginny and Hermione are not = WTF?)
