What I Need
I was in the shower thinking. And I don't want to make this all about one person. I think what I really need is a social network that I can see in person, not just on facebook. I was in the shower feeling like I am really homesick and seeing almost any person from Canada who also knows other people I know would bring me much joy. I think that's the great thing about university. It's like a small town of people who all have at least one thing in common. And when you meet someone new it's likely enough that they have at least met someone you know. And I think it makes people happier to have a social network like that. This advice article advised meeting friends of friends and I can see why. And now I feel like I am farther from getting that social network in Cambridge. That's the thing about moving around. It's hard to get established with a social life. Especially if you're not meeting people through work. And this is almost the longest I've gone without seeing someone I've known for more than four months.
