How do I feel about a Watership Down remake?

Eeeeeeeh, do you have to do this, you'll probably fuck it up and it's one of my favourite books and the movie is really good ... *clicks on article*

How do I feel about a Watership Down remake starring James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult and Olivia Colman?

TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (you may well still fuck it up though.)

I mean, the statements about the book and movie aren't 100% wrong but the book isn't exactly a happy bouncy event, for all that there's other stuff going on there. Have they read the description of Bigwig's face when he gets out of the snare? The film holds back! It holds back on the description of the warren's destruction too, reading about Captain Holly getting out of the warren is horrifying. I mean, yes, it's a shame mostly people only remember how grim the film is as opposed to the wonderful story, I can see why you might like to change that - but I'm not sure that it's going to be as easy to change that without some serious restructuring and maybe losing some of the stuff that makes the book powerful.

And much as I love them, McAvoy and Hoult are going to have to work reeeeeally hard to beat out Richard Briers and John Hurt. But what the hell, I love watching a challenge! :D

(also, right after reading the article, I went upstairs to put some earrings in. I reached into my drawer of little studs and pulled out - my two rabbit earrings! Let us hope it's a good omen!)
