zhelena asked "Best moment of the month?"
Obviously, this was for yesterday but I decided to wait to see if anything particularly excellent happened (it didn't, yesterday was largely annoying!) This is actually the hardest question of all, I think. I've been vaguely sifting through moments going "Which was better? Which was best?" and I don't know. It's been a pretty decent month, several really good days but how does one decide what's the best?
So in time honoured fashion, I'm cheating and you're getting three, in the order they happened. :)
- sleepover with
robert_frogg, watching Victor Frankenstein and chatting about X-Men. It was glorious fun and lovely and I always love seeing my friends.
- the one-day Saturday course I went to about Taming of the Shrew. It was fascinating. The general conclusion was "This is a complicated play and in the end, depends a lot on the production you see." because you can take so much to the words and it's hard to decide what "should" be there - if anything really. I think you should never look at it too simply though, it's really complicated and strange and the metaphors are interesting too.
Also, the lady in charge was talking about how in Shakespeare's time, there was this idea that kissing on the lips meant you exchanged souls and this is why lots of Shakespeare plays have an odd number of kisses so you end up with the others soul. This is a DELICIOUS AU that I intend to use in loads of fics because you can play with the idea so much and I think it'll be awesome.
- attending a 70s night with
localfreak. Soooo much fun and giggling and dancing (I'm a terrible, terrible dancer but it can be delightful fun) and I got to spend time my friend and it was wonderful.
