Bella (2006) - A working class hero is something to be.

One would have to be far (far) less cynical than I to like this movie. I may have missed some nuances because I fast-forwarded because it was eating my brain.
There's a New York Mexican restaurant with a newly-pregnant (it was a surprise!), newly-fired waitress and a heavily bearded, laconic chef whose brother owns the restaurant. It turns out he's bearded and laconic for penance because he ran over a little girl sometime in the past. He went to her grave and cried. He expositioning this and says that he tried several times to get the mother to speak with him but she wouldn't (I think he was aggravated about that). I dearly wanted the other person to ask, and what (in god's name) would you say to her? But no, he's more to be pitied than scorned.
Waitress ends up at chef's house with loving family whose mother speaks perfect English and father speaks none. So this waitress who has worked with Spanish speaking restaurant people for some time is out in the summer garden with father who is gesturing toward his lovely flowers and going 'something, something flores' and waitress is completely befuddled. Whatever is he talking about? Lady, you are dumber than you look.
Waitress decides not to have abortion; laconic chef adopts baby.
Earlier in the movie chef confronts brother about Hispanic staff being paid less than white staff. I'm not sure if that is ever mentioned when they reconcile at end because, you know, my brain had been chewed on and it was obvious that family is more important than just wages. Hermanos!

The theme will be scans of things around my house.
I had this idea about scans of some LP albums I had and then I realized that my scanner is too small to capture the entire face of the album. And as I found out in research, so are most scanners. But I found a software program, Scan and Stitch, that pieces together big things. Good enough for my purposes. So I give you

This is my favorite Everly Bros. album. When you put the EB in something like Pandora, you get the 60's ones, Cathy's Clown, etc. which are well and good but everybody ignores the later stuff.
