Yes, let's go at a steady pace

Well, it has been quite a while since my last entry on here. I don't really care about that fact, however, as nobody really reads this. But in the remote chance anyone still does read this, here is an update on my situation...

I have been working at Viking Pump for two months now. I must say that I love my job so much! In all truth, it is my dream job. That said, it is quite sad that I have only a month left, as it is just a temporary job. Some chic referred to me as an intern today, but I am so much more than a stupid intern. Oh well. That is one of the reasons I love this job.... I don't have to deal with people. I really don't like people... I just don't "get" them. People make me mad. So it is super nice to be able to just sit at my desk for 8 hours and only have to deal with me and my thoughts (and of course.... my awesome fun work!) Which, speaking of my work, you may be thinking "What does she do, anyway?" Well, I am in charge of turning this huge catalog of their pumps into a digital format. Most of the catalog hasn't really been updated since the 70's and 80's, and all that exists of it are the paper copies (which make up the catalog) and the original layout on artboards. Well, I scan the pages from the sections in an OCR program (it recognizes text and such so you can save it as a text document instead of just the usual image... it's pretty neat). Once I get all the text and pull it into InDesign (the page layout program I use) and get it all formatted, I work on the images. Some are photo-like images of pumps and others are line art drawings. I retouch all the photos so they are as near perfect as I can get them and then I go through and fix all of the line art drawings. I can spend full days just editing images.... it rocks! Other things I do with images are to turn one pump model image into the newer current version of the pump model. That's fun... takes a lot of editing, but I can do it. I am so excited that I am getting all of this experience in a job that is actually in my degree field!!! I couldn't be happier in terms of a job right now! Oh- and I don't know if any of this makes sense to you, but it does to me. :)

I'd like to take a moment and say I love my Mike. I've been with him for a year and half and I love him so much! I won't ramble on and on about this subject, but I did just want to say I love him.... sometimes I think he knows me better than I know me.

Easter was really great this year! It was Mom, Dad, Gramma Grampa, Mandy Wayne, and I... and Uncle Jeff was over to eat but then went home. We had a lot of fun. Dad and Grampa played pool all day while the rest of us played cards. I love playing cards but I don't often have the opportunity. If I go to gramma and grampa's with mom and dad on Saturdays, I'm the odd one out so I don't get to play unless someone needs a potty break or something. At any rate, Easter really was wonderful... I thoroughly enjoyed spending the time with my family.

I don't think anything else newsworthy is really going on in my life right now.

In future news, Mike and I are going to go to a Green Day concert on May 11th. I'm pretty excited about that!

OH-- I have recently (within the past two months) gotten really in to rubber stamping. I have always made cards and such with stickers and paper, but now I do rubber stamped cards, too! I've probably spent well over 100 dollars on stamps and supplies in the past couple months... it's nuts! But- it is something I thoroughly enjoy and I know I won't tire of or get bored with. People always have birthdays and such and I enjoy giving cards. :) What is really fun is when my sister or my mom make cards with me. It's nice not to always do that kind of stuff by myself and have the company to talk to and bounce ideas off of and suchlike. Kinda makes me wish I had a friend that enjoyed doing such things.... but I have no friends of the female gender here in town. But- I actually don't mind not having friends cuz that would be a people and as I stated earlier, I generally don't really like people. That is cuz I'm just not a big people person... never have been... I am moreso than I used to be, but I'm still not... if that makes any sense whatsoever.

Oh dear... it is now nearly eleven and I need to head my lil rump to bed. I just wanted to get an update posted quick (or not so quick... whatever)

Until next time....

Andi.
