The bits where they went around doing magic tricks and kung-fu magic were pretty fun.  And I liked Harrelson playing his actual evil twin as one of the bad guys.  And Harry Potter was generally pretty gleefully over-the-top wicked.  But the actual story bits felt like total nonesense (especially whenever they tried to make a big deal of THE EYE).  ( Read more... )

Other than the dinosaurs, this is pretty much a stereotypical action/adventure type movie.  Pratt is generally likeable as the Rebel Who Knows the True Way.  Byrce Dallas Howard does what she can with the Alpha Business Woman Who Must Learn to Love/Relax/Be a Mom.  And the kdis fufill their role as generally useless Foolishly in Danger plot objects ( Read more... )

An enjoyable and mostly fast-paced adventure movie. Though, for a movie that pushes a message of positivity over nihilism it sure does like its dead-eyed, smiling murderbot androids...

An entertaining movie. I mean is it 200 million worth of entertaining? Probably not. But Ian McShane and Stanley Tucci and Ewan McGregor are obviously having a fine time in a movie they're all way too good for. This has a very 90s feel to it. At least with the regular DS version I got. It really reminds me a lot of the Zelda 2, especially with the overland map that switches to a more side scrolly thing during random monster encounters or when entering towns, dungeons or similar. Fun so far, and the characters and humor match well with the source show
