It was October fifth and Luke had to go to the hospital for some checkups. Luke ran into Chris Hughes.
After Luke was finished with his checkups, he made his way out into the hall only to run into Reid Oliver!
“Reid?”
“Luke, what are you doing here?”
“I could ask you the same question! I didn’t know you were a doctor! Why didn’t you tell me?” Luke noticed his white lab coat.
“Just became one, actually!”
“Just became one?” Luke questioned.
“Well, I have been studying medicine for a while now, thought I would give it a shot!” Reid admitted with a smile.
“Ok! I don’t think you can do that, but I guess...”
“Luke, don’t worry. I was a neurosurgeon for a while!”
“Oh, there is so much I don’t know about you.” Luke flashed his baby eyes at Reid.
“You will know the important parts soon enough!”
Both stared at one another for about a minute before Luke spoke again. “What do you mean, was a neurosurgeon? You’re not anymore?”
“Well, let’s just say...I couldn’t take the blood. It overpowers me. ”
“Is that why you left so fast the other day, when Janet cut her finger?”
“Yes, the smell...it gets to me!”
“I see. So why are you working in a hospital then?”
“I can work in a hospital without being close to blood.” Reid was lying to protect Luke.
“If you say so!”
“Trust me! I have it all worked out!”
“Ok!”
“Are you sick? No...you’re here for checkups, aren’t you?”
“How-how do you know that?!”
Reid couldn’t read Luke’s mind, but he could read Chris’ mind, and Chris was thinking about Luke while working on some papers close by. That is how Reid knew.
“My little secret!”
“You know, you’re very mysterious at times!”
“That’s why you love me!” Reid smiled at Luke.
Luke was lost for words at that comment, but agreed with Reid anyway. “Look, I better go. I have some work I need to get back to but I will text or call you later, okay?”
Reid agreed and Luke left. Luke considered kissing Reid, but they just met and wasn’t sure if it was the right time yet! Reid was kind of happy that Luke didn’t kiss him because he didn’t know if he could control himself if Luke yet. Reid loved Luke, and Luke was a human, and Reid could hurt him if he didn’t control himself. So Reid had to put some space between them, even though they were together as boyfriends. At some point, kissing and being close would come into play, although Reid didn’t know if his control issues would stay in check. Reid did have problems before! And Reid's perfect world would shatter around him before he knew it.
