I've become fairly fierce in guarding the sanctity of my birthdays. But then, so are others in my biological family, so I don't feel particularly guilty about this behaviour. Back when we lived in Toronto, every other week I'd spend the night downtown with my boyfriend. It was a special treat for me, seeing the city all lit up after dark. Wow, that was a *lot* of happy birthday wishes! Many, many thanks to everyone who sent them!

I'm freshly installed into my new home, and spent most of the day fiddling with my new toy, a Nexus 4, and spending some quality time with my hubby. It was a nice start on this new chapter of my life. :-)
