So I just read "The Tales of Beedle the Bard" and it felt like coming home. This is, of course, the result of the genius decision to have commentary from Dumbledore for each fairytale. OH MY GOD DUMBLES, COULD YOU BE ANY MORE BADASS? ♥ Being you, you probably could.
These sections are the purest pleasure the book has to offer - Dumbledore has always been Rowling's most extravagantly enjoyable voice, and he's in full cry here, wise and funny, taking shots at the Malfoys and at himself with equal enthusiasm.
-Beedlemania by Lev Grossman of Time. It's a short review, and he's a total fanboy, which is awesome.
The correspondence with Lucius had me laughing out loud, mostly because I kept imagining the faces he'd make reading Dumbledore's letter in buttfacemakani 's style XD Rotae actually did a fanart of Draco caught reading the fairy tale, haha. Oh and, is there fanfic yet involving the Wizarding Academy of Dramatic Arts?
But then I got chills reading the commentary to "The Tale of Three Brothers". I think it's knowing that Dumbledore is lying through his teeth and also knowing why. Oh, JKR, how I heart your world.
Ok, I'm done, sorry xD I haven't full-on fangirled HP in a while.
