2. It's the absurdist quality of that, I think--the movie constantly reminds you that he's not quite human. Same with the hair. It's too ridiculously like someone's idea of perfection. Which makes complete sense, of course, but I can't help thinking about elves ( ... )

10. Yeah, that thought only occurred to me later, but it's very possible. We never get subtitles, and of course they told him to say certain things, but he's certainly capable of saying other things...

I think I watch films through to the end even if I'm not enjoying them terribly in the hope that they'll somehow get better, though ...I tend to also leave the film on, because I hate unfinished stories, but I'll start doing something else at the same time, like grading, or reading a for-fun book, so that I can glance up occasionally and keep an eye on the movie while not completely wasting the hours!
