Some of you may not have heard the wonderful news - I've decided that later on in life I'm going to learn the trade of a pastry chef. Because I love food, and I love cooking. Not that I'm going to completely abandon Nuclear Medicine Technology (partially because I really enjoy it, and partially because I think my parents would have some sort of meltdown if I told them) - I'm going to get my degree/pass my board exam/get a job and then pay off all my debt from going to an extremely expensive school. Then! I'm going to look into a continuing education pastry chef program. So who wants to see what I've baked the past few days?!?!
Psh, I know you all do.
Okay. Prepare yourself for my culinary genius.
These are actually the last things I made, just some biscuits for strawberry shortcake.
These I made yesterday, and they are COMPLETELY amazing, and they were so easy to make. Just my speed. They "official" name is Brownie Peanut Butter cups, and you can find the recipe
here. It does only make 12. But it was fast. And they were DELICIOUS.
OMG crepes. Most people know that I have an obsession with crepes. Or rather, if you know me, and read this, you should know I have an obsession with crepes. Crepes are delicious. Since I've been home I've been in crepe-withdrawal due to the lack of my favorite crepe restaurant The Skinny Pancake, which is currently five hours away from me. Even though I have an obsession with food, even I'm not crazy enough to drive five hours for a crepe. Though that would be completely awesome. Anyway. I found a very easy crepe recipe which can be found
here. So you just throw stuff together in a bowl, lightly oil a small frying pan, pour in some batter, and cook each side for about 3 minutos. Then you can put stuff in it! I love putting stuff in crepes. The guy that I stole this recipe from suggested strawberry and nutella (his directions for that recipe was great. "1. Make crepes. 2. Assemble.") - and we also made a nutella/banana/strawberry. Nutella is delicious.
Let me know if I say the word "delicious" too much.
Those are lemon cupcakes. What's up, lemon cupcakes? They were pretty good too - and we tried them with all four kinds of frosting located within the house - cream cheese, chocolate, strawberry, and lemon. Personally, I really liked the chocolate, but my sister was a solid fan for cream cheese.
In other news, I'm going to see OAR tomorrow! Sweet! Especially since I feel like I haven't spent much time with Stacey while we've been home (sad face), but I'll be living with her in January so it's really okay (happy face)! I also went to the dermatologist today, and had a PPD read (I remain negative for tuberculosis, which is always good, if not predictable, news.) Um. I'm going to house sit for my Uncle down in So. Kingstown. And. Uh. No. That's really it. Which is why I've done so much baking lately. Oh! Last weekend was family oriented, as we went out for dinner with my Grandma Elaine (dad's side), and then out to breakfast with my Grandfather and Nana (mom's side.) It was an enjoyable weekend. Also, a while ago my dad and I saw Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3d. I really enjoy 3d movies. I dragged my sister to see the second Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie with I really enjoyed.
The End.
