Later that day, around 10:00 to be precise, Christy Hemme is in her office at the dance studio, the redhead returning a few ‘business’ related phone calls and officially closing the books on a few past clients. She keeps the files in a hidden compartment of her desk while she’s at the office, taking the files home with her at the end of the day to be on the safe side.

On that same day, at 10:45, Trish is taking a break from the gym so she can meet with Chris for coffee. They’ve dated, on and off, for several years currently trying to figure out if it was worth giving their relationship another shot. Trish is fully aware of the risks she’s taking by dating a police officer, but what Chris doesn’t know won’t hurt him.

Also on that day, at 11:00, Jamie and Amy are going about with their daily routine as best they can; Jamie feeding the cats while Amy conducts bar related business from the home office which is currently doubling as a guest bedroom. The redhead remains in there for a good hour before she retreats to the garage, Jamie going outside to tan, Josh trailing after her.

“Who owns that Ducati?”

“A ghost.”

“And the Augusta?”

“The ghost of Christmas Past.”

Alex rolled his eyes before entering the garage, going to put a hand on the black Ducati when Amy stopped him. “Protective, I see.”

Amy smiled dryly, “no one touches my bikes.”

“I’ll keep that in mind.” A beat passed, “you still racing?”

“No,” she crossed her arms, “semi-retired, I guess you could say.”

The brunette smirked, “now that is surprising news.”

The redhead shrugged, “I have to grow up sometime…. Though not entirely, obviously. I won’t give up the bikes.”

Alex thumbed to the door, “Josh is outside with Jamie.”

Amy grabbed a rag from the shelf, polishing a spot on the Ducati, “and? Did you come in here just to tell me that?”

Alex pushed off from the wall, “I know you’re busy with the bar, but… you can’t fool me.”

Amy shot him a look, “what are you talking about?”

“Recent spike in crime?”

“You are unbelievable, you honestly think, just because I was in and out of juvie…” Trailing off, she tossed the rag back onto the shelf. “You might know me Shelley, but you haven’t been back in Michigan for how long now?”

“Couple months, so what? I had some shit to take care of.”

“Or more accurately you found yourself in deep shit?” Amy speculated and then smirked when he grumbled. “South of the border again?” And when he said nothing, the redhead snorted. “And yet, the latest scheme that you and Joshua are trying involves you being bounty hunters?”

“So?”

“Don’t try to write checks that your mouth can’t cash.”

With that Amy went back inside, nearly closing the door on Alex’s face.

Meanwhile, while Alex had been attempting to get some information from Amy, Josh was outside with Jamie. Though while Amy was at least responding, Jamie was all but ignoring Josh.

“J, I’m sorry.”

“What was that? I’m sorry, Chris, but I can’t hear you over all of the bullshit that keeps coming out of your mouth.”

Josh raked his hands through his hair. “I already explained that Chris was just a random decision… CS sounds better with AS, you know, ASCS Customs.”

Jamie readjusted her sunglasses, “and I already told you that I didn’t need an explanation.”

“It was hard to call because we were on the run.”

“Then maybe you should have stopped being cowards.”

“It’s not that easy, Jamie.”

“Really? It’s that difficult to just grow a set?” Sighing, Jamie reached for her iPod, slipping the ear-buds in, “I’m not interested in your excuses right now.”
