Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Minato is around 5’7”, though unfortunately he looks even shorter with how he slouches. He’s also rail-thin-you could easily describe him as underweight, and very small.
Not a very imposing presence.
2. How old is he?
17 as of arriving in Vatheon. He’ll be 18 next birthday, though he technically is preserved at 17 forever with that duty as the Seal.
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
HAHAHA.
He slouches. He is always slouching. He only straightens during moments of extreme importance, and even then he only straightens by choice and when he’s thinking about it. He inevitably falls back into a slouch when he stops thinking about his posture.
Aside from the slouch he’s almost always leaning back somewhat, the most relaxed sort of posture you could imagine. It’s highly likely he never had any adult figure ever get after him for his posture for long, and it’s a bad habit that he won’t be able to break by now.
He also constantly has his hands in his pockets. He sits and runs with his hands in his pockets sometimes. Don’t even ask.
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
He is the most fit. Running around Tartarus slaughtering shadows will do that. It’s even said in game that he basically kicks butt at whatever sport he chooses to join thanks to that “special training” Tartarus gives him. While he might be rail thin, he’s also got a very wiry sort of strength.
Um he’s also dead, but otherwise, no, he’s perfectly fit physically.
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
He’s very graceful! It took some time to learn how to be graceful with all of the weapons he was trying to use, but he got the hang of it eventually and stopped falling on his butt after missing shadows. For the most part.
Otherwise, he’s just very relaxed in everything he does. Comes with being as laid-back as he is.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
Sob people call him “pretty boy” in canon. Because he is. He has gentle features, along with his slim build and fashionable style of dress.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
He’s light-skinned, skin tone average Japanese, if perhaps a shade paler than average.
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
He’s got blue hair, and yes, he gets enough flak about it in Vatheon. It’s just blue, okay. : |;;
It’s a darker blue, and his bangs generally hang in a fringe over one eye emo hair, but he honestly does not care all too much how it is styled.
9. What color are his eyes?
I’d say slate blue with more grey than blue. Definitely grey of some sort, though they can look blue depending on the lighting and how close one looks.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
Nope~ None. He’s just a normal teenager, what are you talking about?
11. What are his chief tension centers?
It doesn’t matter how often I do this meme or how much research I do. I still don’t get this question.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
Minato’s wardrobe is ~magical~.
Okay no it isn’t, but he does have that ability to look trendy in whatever he wears, whether it be his school uniform or jeans and a t-shirt. He tends towards blue, but otherwise the colors he wears fit the seasons-grey and darker blue for the winter, light blue and white for the summer. He doesn’t put a lot of thought into it, but he’s certainly conscious of what he’s wearing.
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
Yes, he’s comfortable in his clothes, and yes, they fit well. There isn’t much variety to them, but they’re there. Overall, clothes are clothes are clothes. /shrug
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
Nope. He wears his uniform to school (the only one who wears it properly, gosh, SEES) and wears normal clothes on Sunday when he has the day off. In Tartarus he wears a swimsuit whatever he was wearing that day.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
It doesn’t-he doesn’t talk Normal…? He has a nice voice. Steady and good for shouting. If he. Ever shouted. Which he doesn’t.
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
He speaks calmly, coolly, generally entirely in control and unconcerned. He thinks before he speaks, so he doesn’t need to hesitate very often. But again, his pace of speaking is simply much more laidback than most.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
He would if he were speaking English. Definitely a Japanese accent. Since he speaks Japanese most of the time, that’d be a no. Nothing particularly noticeable.
(he does have the tendency to toss ‘whatever’ into a conversation whenever he can but snerk. Catchphrase.)
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
Japanese is his native language, but he speaks English mostly fluently and rather decently! He also has picked up some French but nothing all too useful.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
If the situation calls for it, sure. Like when his teacher asks him to translate in class. : |;;;
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
He does think about his words anyway, almost always, but he is rather quick on his feet. He’s clever, really, good at coming up with multiple responses to a single statement and then deciding on the one that fits best at the time.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
He is generally pretty eloquent, when he decides to be wordy. Most of the time he isn’t very wordy at all, which makes it difficult for him to be particularly eloquent. And he is inarticulate if you ever manage to stump and/or startle him to that point, of course. He’s just a teenager, after all.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
He’s got a bit of both. He’s studied enough that he’s a ~genius~, and he certainly is earning the top of the class marks at school by the end of the year. There isn’t a subject he’s particularly amazing in, nor is there a subject that he is bad at. He’s just perfectly balanced when it comes to school.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
Again, a bit of both. He’s very fast on his feet when it comes to battles, or directing his team. He has to be able to think quickly to be able to make the most of his Personas-to know when to switch them and when to use certain abilities, while at the same time directing and guiding the others fighting with him.
But when it comes to other sorts of decisions, he’ll consider them carefully. Again, it won’t take him long, though. He is used to not having much time to come up with a solution, after all.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
….Well.
That depends on the situation.
He’s, at base, a very practical person. He lives day by day, doing what needs to be done in as sensible a manner as he can imagine. That’s his day to day life.
But further than that, he is almost idealistically optimistic when it comes to certain things. He’d have to be, really, to do what he did. He believed in a world gone completely rotten and had the optimism to believe that it would change for the better.
He has the idealistic belief that everyone can change and that there is good in everyone, but he is realistic enough to recognize that there is also bad in everyone. Basically, he believe in people. He always will, too.
4. What kind of education has the character had?
Normal schooling. o/;; No matter how much he was shuffled around in life, he certainly went to school. Nothing special beyond that, though.
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
……everything and nothing? He’s interested in everything, expert in nothing. Or well. Most everything comes naturally to him, but he has nothing that he has pursued for long enough to become an expert in it.
So he has the strangest range of talents but nothing that he is the best at.
6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Most introverted extrovert in the world. Or is it most extroverted introvert? Who knows.
Either way he is the quietest kid you will ever meet. And yet he wants to talk to you. He wants to know what you like and why and have small talk and enjoy a few pleasant moments in your company.
He is the most social introvert in Vatheon and he is a pimp.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Even-tempered, laid-back, quiet and calm. Very little ruffles him; even fewer things upset him or anger him. He’s not cheerful, so much as content and serene, pleased with life but not outwardly a particularly happy person.
Don’t let it fool you. He’s generally pretty content. <3
…Or he’s exhausted, but you’d never know either way.
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
He responds to new people and situations well!
Or, well, if you consider being utterly relaxed about it a good thing. If it’s utterly unexpected, he’ll be surprised, of course, but the ability to adapt is one that he has in spades.
It’ll take him an hour to be chill with the situation.
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
Generally he reacts! If he doesn’t need to act first, he won’t. If he’s leading his team, however, that’s a very different thing; then he acts out of necessity, knowing the value of taking the first move.
He’s not a very reactive or active person, though.
10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Fight. : |a He’s not one to back down or run away ever; he even fights Fate. It’s just something he doesn’t accept. Nothing is undefeatable, and he will fight for what he believes.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Deadpan. Deadpan like you wouldn’t believe, and his poker face is an excellent, excellent thing. You won’t realize he’s cracking a joke unless you’re looking for it, promise.
That said, he can appreciate humor, but don’t expect to get a laugh out of him very easily.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
……………..Multiple Personality Disorder? Or Schizophrenia?
Nope, just his Personas.
Also Death stuffed into his psyche when he was six.
Okay yes, his head is an extraordinarily messed up place, not that it would ever be able to be defined in any normal way.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
At the age of 6 his parents and he were in a car accident. His parents died. He survived. This was also the moment in which the embodiment of Death was shoved into his head forcefully.
All of the time spent after that (canonly, he moved around a lot, likely shuffled from family to family or in orphanages) shaped him as a person, of course.
Then at the age of 16 he returned to where he lived before his parents died and Persona 3 happens.
And his life is defined.
14. What does he fear?
Nothing.
To explain it somewhat better-there is nothing he fears. It is difficult to fear things when one has had death in his head for ten years.
There are things that will scare him, but never enough to scare him into paralysis-he simply never is that frightened. He can overcome any fears that way. It’s a valuable ability for him to have, and it is what allowed him to stand up and face Nyx (and Death) by himself in the end.
15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
He doesn’t…have any. He accomplished all he said he would when he met with his friends on graduation day, and then he died. And he was content that way.
He hasn’t found any new goals or hopes or aspirations in Vatheon yet. It’s possible he never will, at this rate.
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
Wellllllll. He’s not exactly going to be spreading either his death or how he died or why or what happened to him after, but it isn’t as though he particularly minds if people find out either. It’s not in his nature to hide things; he just doesn’t want to worry his friends.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
It was a good relationship. He loved his parents very, very much.
And then they died. O-oops.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
None. Unless you want to consider FeMC one but that’s a whole nother can of worms.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
There are certainly other blood relatives out there somewhere. We can only assume that he lived with them for a little while when his parents passed away and then passed out of their lives.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
Yes. <3 First off, SEES is his family. He doesn’t consider them his second family-he considers them his family.
That will never change.
Since coming to Vatheon, he also has added some “family” members. There’s dualpinkpistols and treasurehunted who have taken the role of bigger siblings, guiding him at times. He’s extremely grateful for their presence, since he hasn’t had much in the way of guidance all of his life.
Then there’s curry-bread, who is his little brother, and singularjustice who is a part of his family, even if he isn’t quite sure how to describe how. He is building quite the family.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?

As a side note-Minato will never be capable of picking a best friend. He can’t. That would imply that he values one person over everyone else, and he doesn’t. There are people he loves dearly-but he doesn’t have a best friend.

He makes all of the social links. And being as flexible and nonjudgmental as he is, he literally gets along with everyone. He’s got positive CR with Izaya.
So yes. He charms everyone he meets. It’s got something to do with his ~aura~

His friends are his family. There you go.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
Single. Forever single. Herp derp dead.

UM. He has no spouse, he is a bit too derp to be in a serious romantic relationship, he was possibly in a relationship with a good 6 or 7 girls. Maybe.
He’s good at scheduling.
11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
He doesn’t…

He’s one of those characters who has so much on his mind that even if he did have a crush he wouldn’t notice. His emotions are rather repressed as well, so.
12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
…man. He isn’t looking, but what he would need is someone patient and willing to put up with his help all of the people tendencies. But he would also need someone who would put their foot down on his nonsense and tell him when he’s being an idiot and needs to rest.
Someone who doesn’t expect anything of him and gives as much as takes. Basically. Someone who takes care of him but doesn’t resist him taking care of them too.
It’d be a very platonic relationship though.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
Noooone. He’d be the coolest godfather, though.
14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
…Takaya is his foil? He doesn’t precisely consider anyone to be a rival or an enemy to be honest. There are people he has to defeat or get past, but he doesn’t sort people in that way.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
3 - smack dab in the middle. As per usual with everything. He simply doesn’t…think about any of it? Generally. Being in a romantic relationship with someone would require putting them above other people, which is something he’s not quite capable of yet. Or ever.
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
It’s not all that important to him. Another of those things he just doesn’t think about very often. He’s certainly had sex before, but well. /shrugs Not his first focus in any way.
Beliefs

He doesn’t…have a canon birthday…I’LL COME BACK TO THIS ONE SOMEDAY
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
Neither, in a way. He respects others’ beliefs but isn’t religious himself. Part of him very much dislikes the idea of someone else deciding his life for him, you see, and it isn’t like Nyx gives a favorable impression of gods-
But anyway. He’s very down to earth and very grounded. His Personas are probably the most spiritual thing about him. He has researched a lot of mythology. : |b
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
Yes he does. It’s quite possibly the most ridiculously morally ambiguous scale you would ever expect from a protagonist, and it requires some explaining. In essence, lacking in any adult guidance of any sort and left to fend for himself at a young age, Minato grew up inherently neutral.
He will hang out with the Student Council’s most stubborn member, and he will also hang out with a known con artist and man who steals peoples’ money and threatens him every night.
Because he sees the good and the bad in people. It’s just something he does. And he doesn’t judge, so that allows him to be much more ambivalent in how he treats people. SO UM. If you don’t harm other people thoroughly, he’ll be pretty chill with you.
4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
He likes to learn about beliefs other than his own. It’s extremely hard to have a conflicting belief when he is so fluid, after all.
If you do have a belief that conflicts with one of his core beliefs, however, he will never back down. Backbone of steel.
5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
……..n-none? He believed in all people to an extent, really, so um…
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
By the end of the game he has enough money to run a small country, but lol Tartarus and game mechanics.
In reality, he keeps track of SEES funds. So he’s very cautious with that money, keeping track of what they have and what they need and what equipment they need and what they don’t and etc etc etc.
He’s not poor, though! Just very cautious.
2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
…He’s a high-schooler. Um.
It’s notable that all he owns to his name is an MP3 player and headphones, though. Maybe he owns the calendar and the bedspread too? Or perhaps they were dorm issued-
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
He lives in the dorm with SEES. His room is pristine and empty. Welp.
He lives in an apartment complex in Vatheon with SEES, but they call it the dorms because it reminds them of home and they’ve converted it to suit. Again his room is pristine and more or less empty, though notably he has the glasses and Jack Frost Yukari got for him and the puzzle N got for him around the room.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
…m-music?
Sometimes. Karaoke.
He’s not in the habit of spending money on himself often.
5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
He’s a student. He’s very good at that.
He’s also a protagonist saving the world. He’s good at that one too. And um. I suppose he enjoyed it well enough…? He has no regrets, anyway. Wouldn’t have changed anything about how he lived.
6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
With other people. That’s how he spends his free time. His hobbies are their hobbies. His interests are their interests and also music.
When people ask him what he wants to do, he’s usually taken a little off guard.
And suggests ramen anyway, shhh. Some habits are hard to break.
7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
He eats ramen whatever is on hand. He’s not a picky eater, and will happily go wherever to eat. He eats quite a lot, too, though he doesn’t have to eat a lot to be happy. Mostly he eats when it’s convenient, a loose sort of schedule, and whatever is one hand/the person he is with wants to eat.
No he doesn’t drink, he’s a minor B|
Okay he’s drank with Kanji and with Shanks, but only because they offered and he didn’t mind accepting.
