2008: my year in review

Jan 02, 2009 19:15

In 2008, I :

- broke tradition by not making my year in review post on December 31. This is going to be a year of change, baby!
- completed The Overworld, again. Three times, in fact. That seems like more than enough times for one year.
- finished another novel and didn't finish a screenplay, both of little literary value, both due to my unceasing devotion to the cult perpetrated by The Office of Letters and Light.
- attended my first (and so far only) writing conference. It was a great experience, and I made some wonderful new writing buddies. I don't have any specific attendance plans for future conferences, but I'm keeping a lookout for interesting opportunities.
- reaped the benefits of participating in two awesome critique groups.
- collected my first rejection letters.
- helped with the selection and editing of an anthology.
- took fabulous vacations to Hawaii and New England.
- had lots of family and friends visit from out of town.
- did many pushups, but far less running than in 2007.
- started learning to build web sites with CSS but haven't yet put my new skills into action.
- adored my MacBook Air.
