the end of the year approaches

The year is winding down, as it tends to do on a predictable annual basis. I'll make a year in review post probably tomorrow, but for now, some quick notes about the past week:

- I spent a few days relaxing by the ocean, getting in some quality time with one branch of the family, and eating large quantities of delicious food.
- Since returning, I've continued my relaxation at home, mainly reading and knitting as I've been doing all month. This break from writing has been wonderful, but I'm thinking about my novel more and more and am eager to get a start on editing next month.
- Several people related to me have been reading The Overworld and saying very complimentary things about the first draft. I know that their impressions can't possibly be unbiased, but they are genuine, and the feedback fills me with warm fuzzy feelings.
- And speaking of warm fuzziness, I finally had a weather-appropriate opportunity to wear my hot pink fuzzy neckwarmer that I posted silly pictures of ages ago.
