Can't Get Going

I have a press release to write for one of our May shows that will likely be submitted too late for anyone to pick up.

I have the Spreadsheet of Doom to finish for our iPhone app.

I have to create an electronic flier to send to distributors regarding the previously mentioned show, but I hate all of the templates, and the new editing features in Constant Contact.

And, I should start thinking about our e-newsletter, the company newsletter, and my regular PR for next month.

But, instead, over the past two days (yesterday and the first half hour of today), I've ordered a CD from Amazon, three books from Borders, a gift card for my mom, and a dress for myself.

Apparently I'm only motivated to spend my money, not attempt to enhance the profits of my company.

Whatever.

So, weekend was good, even if it got off to a rather lame start. Friday night, Dave and I did our usual dinner-out thing. When we got home, I was excited to watch the Celtics game, which didn't start until 8:30. So, I had a drink, we chatted, and then at 8:30, just as the game was starting, we both got comfy and fell asleep. At 8:30. We woke up at midnight-thirty and moved ourselves to bed; sleeping until eight the next morning. I felt good when I woke up. I apparently really needed the rest. But I also felt like I needed a do-over on my Friday night. Like I said: Lame start.

Dave spent most of the day out on the bike. I did all of my Sunday chores, and then some, including laundry, running the dishwasher, going to the grocery store, dusting, vacuuming and cleaning the fish tank. Later in the day, Dave had his alumni hockey game, and I went into Cambridge to meet archas for dinner. After two-and-a-half hours at the Asgard, we were mostly caught up on the last three or so years of our lives. After a stroll around Central, we stopped into TT's for a bit, chatted up some folks, and then were on our way.

Sunday, I picked archas up from his hotel and we attempted brunch at Zaftig's in Brookline. Despite my awesome parking spot, brunch there was not meant to be. So, we headed into Harvard Square and found good eats at OM. We spent the rest of the day wandering and getting wind-blown in Harvard and eventually made our way back to Central to put archas on a train bound for the Fung Wah. By the time I got back home, I was pretty much done. Dave and I made dinner on the grill, watched our cartoons and called it a night.

Monday was pretty much a non-event for me. It was my boss's first day back at work, so while he was catching up, I was doing not much. Then I had to leave early for my eye exam follow-up. I was home early, watched some West Wing, made tacos for dinner, and that was the day.

Yesterday was a little more exciting - maybe because of all of my online shopping? Work was actually pretty bland. I made some progress on the tasks mentioned about (recognizing that they exist and need to be completed), talked to my parents (yesterday was mom's birthday), found out that their trip to Boston this Saturday was canceled (insert sad face), and watched more West Wing.

Today will pretty much be the same as yesterday, with the exception of my progress at work. I really need to finish this stuff. I'm just not motivated to work on any of it yet. No plans for tonight. Maybe more West Wing? Tomorrow we're running two webinars on a new product, but I don't think those really concern me at this point. Tomorrow, after work, I will venture into the Boston area again to hang out with trick_13.

Friday night, we'll have Dave's parents as house guests (they're flying out of Logan Saturday morning to take a cruise). I'd like to take them out for dinner, but I don't know when, exactly, they'll be down from Maine or if they've made plans with anyone else.

I don't have any plans for the rest of the weekend (can't believe I'm thinking that far ahead when it's only Wednesday morning) now that my parents aren't coming up. If it's nice, I'd like to do some work outside, but I haven't seen or heard a forecast lately.

And that's it. I wonder if I need to buy anything else? Oh! I do need to look at riding gloves...
