Sorry, Your Rat Rod is NOT a Hot Rod

Work has really been trying every fiber of my being lately, but, by the grace of God, I have a few quiet minutes to clickity-clack on LJ - so I shall!

The only real activity in my life over the past two weeks has been at work. As a company, we've all been busy. When everyone is busy, I end up really busy, and usually wanting to smash my head on my desk repeatedly because I work with some...interesting people. But, I'm having a good day today, and I don't want to ruin my good mood by reliving all of the stupidity that has taken place here over the last few weeks, so we'll leave all of that as that.

Outside of work, it's the usual: cook, clean, food shop, TV, read, rinse, repeat. I did manage to make it to Patrick's the week before last. We ate a lot of cheese and watched a bad movie, like we do.

Dave and I are keeping up with the no-meat-on-Friday thing, which means we've been going out for dinner every Friday.

Last week, Dave took a day off to get his bike put together, and then ended up taking it apart and putting it back together several more times before saying "screw it" and going out on it for an hour or so. Apparently, the new exhaust he got had a bad weld and was leaking. SuperTrapp is going to replace it though, and then hopefully it will stay nice out so I can go out with him - I have all sorts of new riding gear to break in!

On Saturday, we went out for breakfast, then headed over to the Bayside Expo Center for World of Wheels. Dave wasn't sure about going as he said it hasn't been as good as it used to be, but I had never gone, so we decided to go. It was okay. Only three Corvettes. Some nice 30s cars, but I could have done without the whole rat rod culture. I grew up with classic cars - nice classic cars; the caliber of which I saw little of at the show, so your rat rod does not impress me - neither does your tricked out Saturn. Seriously. Anyway, after the show, we went out for a late lunch and then headed home to dry off, as it was pouring at that point, and vegge in front of the TV.

Sunday was mostly a hang-around-the-house day. I did make it out to the grocery store, but other than that, it was a wash - literally.

This weekend, I may make it out to somewhere for something with the visiting Mr. L. I have no idea when we last saw each other. I know it was in NYC, maybe when I went down for Rotersand? Either way, it's been way too long and I'm very excited for his visit. Dave also has his alumni hockey game Saturday, which I'm going to try to make it to.

Next weekend, my parents might be up for the New England Flower Show, which also has the potential to be awesome.

And, lastly, we're contemplating getting a pool table for the basement, and possibly a 1990 black on black Corvette of our very own. I think my head might explode if that comes to fruition; I would not be able to deal with how amazing that would be.
