*~*~*~*~*~*
Eunhyuk was sitting in the practice room waiting for Sungmin to finish rehearsing for his solo stage. He watched in awe and mostly jealousy as he moved sensuously with the other female dancers. Seriously, did he really need to have so many? He sighed. He was starting to act like a fangirl. He had to remember they were only doing their job. He tried to focus on Sungmin, so that he could stop his glare from burning a hole in the dancers.
He was always amazed with Sungmin’s performances. He often found himself wanting to go out in the audience to watch with the fans instead of from his limited view from the side. Every stage Sungmin put on was flawless. The way his voice rang across the stage never failed to send chills down Eunhyuk’s spine. He loved to watch his face as he belted out the notes that he had spent hours perfecting (though if you ask Eunhyuk, he doesn’t need to practice at all). He loved how his fingers flowed up and down the keyboard with ease, or the way they expertly strummed the guitar strings without any hesitation on where they would land. Eunhyuk would fight the urge to blink so he wouldn’t miss a nanosecond of his performance. And after every single stage, he was the first one to congratulate Sungmin and tell him how perfect he thought he was.
Although Eunhyuk was happy for Sungmin, he couldn’t help feeling a little down. He knew that nothing he ever did would be as good as Sungmin, or any of the other members for that matter. He didn’t have a voice like Sungmin, and although he could play the piano, he couldn’t play like Sungmin. That’s why he’s never had a solo stage, no matter how much he’s wanted one. He hated not being able to be up to par with his band members. He always felt doubtful as to whether he should even be in Super Junior. He sighed heavily as the familiar insecurities flowed through his brain.
“Hyuk?” Sungmin called, waking Eunhyuk from his trance.
“Oh, hey Min. Are you done?”
“Yeah. Come on let’s go,” Sungmin said, pulling Eunhyuk up. Sungmin noticed the downhearted look on Eunhyuk’s face. “You’re not jealous again are you?” he asked when they were outside the building.
“Huh? Oh, no. Well, yes, but I’m used to it,” Eunhyuk gave him a small smile, but Sungmin knew it wasn’t a real one. They both got into Sungmin’s car and Sungmin turned to face Eunhyuk as soon as he closed the door.
  “What’s wrong Hyuk?”
“Nothing Min.” Sungmin reached over and placed his hands on Eunhyuk’s cheeks, forcing him to look in his eyes.
“What’s wrong Hyuk?” he asked again, looking into his eyes. Eunhyuk bit his lip and tried to look away, but Sungmin held a firm grip on him. “Tell me,” he said softly.
  “You’re perfect,” Eunhyuk whispered.
“What?” Sungmin asked, his brows burrowing in confusion.
“You’re perfect and talented and just so good at everything you do. I guess I… I just, feel… useless.”
“Hyukjae, you know that’s not true. You aren’t useless and you will never be useless. Don’t you dare think like that.”
“But, I’m just not as good as the rest of you guys. I don’t even belong here,” he whispered, the hopelessness dripping from every word he said.
“What are you talking about? Of course you do!”
“No I don’t. There’s just nothing special about me.” Eunhyuk could feel his eyes watering.
Sungmin pulled him close and wrapped his arms around him. “Hyuk, you are one of the most important people in this group! We wouldn’t- we couldn’t be Super Junior without you.”
“Shindong can rap, a-and all of you guys can d-dance.”
“No one can dance like you do. The way you move, Hyuk even if we practiced for the rest of our lives we still couldn’t compare to you. Can you even see yourself when you dance? It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before. And rapping is not just saying words on beat. You have to have the confidence, and the ability to pull it off. You have both of those and more. You make people want to listen to you, you capture our ears, eyes and hearts with your performance. Don’t you know that?”
  “But Min-“
Sungmin, already knowing what Eunhyuk was going to say, cut him off. “Hyukjae, being able to sing is not what makes someone more important in a group and you of all people should know that. And you can sing!”
  “Min-“
“No Hyuk! Listen to me. You can sing. You have a beautiful voice. Your voice is sincere and honest you put your feelings into it. That’s what makes you a good singer. And if case you didn’t know, it’s my favorite sound in the world. I wish I could hear you sing more, but you never want to,” Sungmin said the last sentence while running his thumb across his cheek.
Eunhyuk was quiet as he listened to Sungmin. He had heard his other hyungs compliment him on his singing, but it was nothing like hearing Sungmin praise him. It was amazing how much of an effect Sungmin’s words had on him. It was as if every insecurity he had was wiped out of him almost as soon as the words left Sungmin’s lips. If he wasn’t feeling it right now, he wouldn’t think it was possible.
“Hyuk, we believe in you. All of us do. You just need to believe in yourself.”

Sungmin was jumping up and down and almost tackled Eunhyuk as he reached the end of the stage. “Hyuk! You were so good out there! I’m so proud of you!” Sungmin cried, squeezing the life out of Eunhyuk.
“You did great Hyuk!” Leeteuk cried, joining the hug.
“Hyukkie! You were so awesome!” Donghae ran into the pile, effectively knocking them all over. Soon the rest of the members joined the pile of limbs on the floor.
“Guys, I can’t breathe.” Eunhyuk struggled under the bodies of his band mates.
They slowly rose up off of him only to scream out “Baby we are down, down, down, down, DOWN!!”
He jokingly stuck his fingers in his ears and shut his eyes. “Yah! You’re worse than the fans,” he said, but he couldn’t fight the smile that came up when he looked at them.
He looked at the smiles on their faces and he could practically feel the pride and happiness radiating off of them. His smiled widened when his gaze landed on Sungmin, the whole reason he was able to do this is the first place. His belief in him was able to put all his fears to rest and gave him the confidence in himself to ask for his own chance to show everyone what Sungmin and all his other members already knew. He no longer doubted whether he belonged in Super Junior. He walked over and hugged Sungmin.
“Thank you,” he said as the tears spilled over

A/N: This was inspired by Eunhyuk’s solo performance of Down in SS3 Japan. How awesome is he?!?!
