Yesterday, after Cat got home from work, she and Mike and I all found a spot to bury Jazz. The curly willow in back is from the house I lived in before moving to Ohio for the last time, and so it has my energy from long ago attached to it. I now realize that Jazz had an aggressive form of cancer in her digestive track somewhere-- it became obvious the last 3 days of her life. My poor baby wasn't in pain until the end, but she was uncomfortable, and I'm glad we had medication to give her to ease that. I'm glad I got an extra week to have my cat in my room (where she didn't come in ( Read more... )

Jazz is getting a little better. She started eating again and so I started up the steroid treatment I was sent home with again. A few days after that and she's still super tired but more alert and engaged than before, her meow is no longer a grating whine sound, and she's moving around on her own more again ( Read more... )

So... I thought I would have to just watch my cat die because what else do you do when you're too poor to afford a vet? I couldn't bring myself to ask anyone else for help because she's 15 1/2-- though maybe I would if she were younger than 14. I was too upset to do much more than just cry a lot and often. Took my cat to the vet clinic today to get her ears cleaned ($50!!) get a general check-up, and procure some Revolution parasite treatment-- enough to last her a full year. I saved up for it, but it still hit me pretty hard. The bill came to $258! OUCH ( Read more... )

This morning, I got literally screamed at by our male cat, Mez, who wanted me to get UP at 9am and let him OUT!!!

I was so pissed I decided not to let him out...
