There is a monthly event in Sydney that I like to attend.  I won't go into details here as it's a bit personal, but the idea is that you e-mail your interest and get yourself on the door list.  I contacted the organisers about two weeks ago, but unfortunately the guest list had filled up fast and I was out of luck.  That was a bit of a let down, ( Read more... )

Five minutes ago I officially finished my last day on the job in Parliament.

A nice lunch was brought in.  It was going to be Crust pizza, but since they don't open until 4pm (really Crust?) we had pizza from elsewhere.  It was still good.

The election program finished today, and was quite good, as it involved a meeting with a polling company and one of the Tea Party organisations.  I did miss a meeting with a media watchdog group (that apparently thinks Obama was not born in America... ohhhhhhh "the Birthers") to have lunch with an old colleague who now works in the Australian ( Read more... )

Sunday brought a relatively early rise and pies in the park for lunch with minxyminou.  Then an afternoon spent with some friends before driving Minou home on the way back to Canberra.  My dinners there are becoming a regular occurance, and it's much nicer having a pause rather than just driving straight on.  Also the inhabitants seem to like having me visit ( Read more... )
