Only when the sounds of life are muffled by the silence of your thoughts are you truly dead.
These words were what swarmed in his mind, what he took to heart for as long as he could remember. It was because it was a constant reminder of the painful truth that all Nobodies had to suffer. And no dead person was in this much pain; no matter how hard they tried.
Green eyes were occupied by the dim streetlights of this deserted district while his puckered lips nestled the smooth ceramic edge of a teacup in between them. He sat at the table at the far edge of the outdoor café, given the perfect view of anyone who decided to pass by the cobblestone plaza that took up a good portion of the district. The house’s special splashing inside the cup was already half consumed, and Axel couldn’t find a more perfect time to be alone to wander in his thoughts.
But even in this solitary peace there was something amidst that the redhead hardly enjoyed. His own purpose for stopping at Traverse Town was unmeasured with the fact that neither Riku nor Naminé were anywhere in sight. Their tracks were fading away fast, yet Axel had the feeling that he’d been left in the dust for quite some time already.
Eyes narrowed, he took another sip of his drink and sat back in his chair, attempting to relax despite these unwanted thoughts.
Life was painful.
