Chocolate is helping numb the pain
Cameron is our PM, and Clegg's his deputy. I was going to write a post about how the Conservatives will probably fuck us over, and why the Lib Dems are sellouts, but I kept on getting angrier and angrier as I thought about it. I actually started chanting "fuck you" under my breath. /o\ So here, have an awesome article by J.K. Rowling about how awful it was to be a single mother when the Tories were last in power. She also explains some of the reasons why the marriage tax break is shit.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see how long this coalition lasts. I'm just worried that if it fails and we have to have another election within a few months, the Tories will probably still blame Labour. They'll just say that Labour left the country in a terrible state, and having to work with the Lib Dems hindered them. And the electorate are probably stupid enough* to believe them and give them a majority.
Finally, I'm actually quite sad to see Gordon Brown go. I never hated him, nor did I blame him for the recession and whatever else people have pinned onto him. He was a great Chancellor for all those years, especially compared to George Osbourne, who is actually an idiot. Anyway, I'll be looking forward to the Labour Leader race in the following months. My money is on one of the Miliband brothers (probably David), though my dream leader would be &Harriet Harman;. But she's removed herself from the race. :(
Oh, but the new Janelle Monae album is awesome! It's one of the few things making me happy right now! :D
