I'm so close to being done with you, fandom

1) Big bangs have been full of fail this year, haven't they? First we had the J2 Haiti fic, then the Catholic!Gabe bandom fic, and now there's a transphobic, misogynistic and just plain creepy Panic fic. sinuous_curve wrote a public post about the aspects of the fic that made her uncomfortable, the author of the fic was linked to this post and accused fandom of talking behind her back as if we were back in high school. The majority of comments in the post were civil; they were discussing the fic and no one personally attacked randomepiphany. But she, of course, ignored this and found a way to be even more offensive by comparing valid criticisms of her fic to gang rape. Yeah. Before this I had no real opinion about her. I'd never read any of her fic and so all I knew about her was second hand knowledge, but now I think she's an vile human being. I find it disgusting that she can trivialize something so traumatic by comparing it to people criticizing her fanfic. I'm both angry and confused right now. Angry for the obvious reason, but confused because does she really think it's acceptable to basically say that fandom raped her? And that this situation is just the same as being lynched and gaybashed. Just...how can anyone think that that's ok to say? D:

2) Moving on, I'M SEEING THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM TOMORROW! :DDDD I've missed them every time they've come to UK in the last couple of years because of one thing or another, but now I'm finally seeing them! Now, if only I could get my hands on The National tickets.

3) I'm also volunteering for Oona King's campaign to be London mayor. Well, at the moment it's her trying to get the Labour nomination, but still. I'm excited about it.

4) GASLIGHT ANTHEM! \o/
