skimming the surface..

my weekend was all over the place and involved many things and many people. so let me just tell you the highlight: learning to play settlers of catan with john from franco and his friend joe with some other cool cats. we played a game with seven people and the game lasted seven hours. joe had an insane (german?) expansion(s?) that included pirates, a thief, a dragon, sinkers to eliminate (sink) production pieces. it was intense. unfortunately, i had to leave about five hours into the game to go babysit and, of course, it was when i had jumped up to one point from second place after being in last or second to last place for 5 hours. this guy leading the game, joe, ending up winning - like he had the three games prior. apparently they call him "lord of catan." i had sooo much fun and i hope to play teach them carcossonne and to play catan again.

also, john and i saw thank you for smoking with april on sunday which was incredibly funny in a slightly dark sort of way.

in other news, i picked up mates of state's our constant concern last night for only $8.50 at em in nw. it's amazing, i love their style so much.
