my weekend was all over the place and involved many things and many people. so let me just tell you the highlight: learning to play settlers of catan with john from franco and his friend joe with some other cool cats. we played a game with seven people and the game lasted seven hours. joe had an insane (german?) expansion(s?) that included pirates ( Read more... )

Fun! I love Settlers and recently learned how to play Cities & Knights. How did you play with 7? We've tried before but never were able to come up with the right 'other color' pieces to make it work. Then again you did specify it was a different expansion hmmm. There's a 3D version floating around for like $200-$300. Tempting but out of my range right now.

so joe not only had an expansion, but i am pretty sure he he might have had two sets because some of the pieces were painted/striped...

Yay for Mates of State. I love them quite a bit, myself. It is difficult to find other fans around the Midwest, though, how surprising.

if you dig carcassonne, you should play with us when we play. i am pretty sure you'd like franco and his friend joe.
i have witnessed several games of zombies, but have never played (each time i was too awesome* to join in. i would be up to trying when i am not awesome.

*by awesome i mean inebriated.

I'd definitely show up sometime. Colleen and I have been wanting to play Zombies but haven't had a big group to play in a while. We have several of the expansion sets though. I should see about organizing a game night at my pad sometime. We have so much damn room.... a table and some more chairs would be good first.... there's always Magic too.

i just can't sit there for 6 hours. i just can't. the only thing i can do for six hours is sleep. seriously. not even shagging holds my interest for 6 hours.

neither, see my above thing about phoenix and you need some place new. shake it up man. you'd be miserable in arizona, and things where you are aren't so hot, try something else.
