On the way to Kinokuniya yesterday, I walked through Uwajimaya and saw all the goodies on display for sale for the Lunar New Year. And so I automatically looked for containers of Rose Brand fortune cookies. And sure enough, they were among the gift boxes.

The price was a surprise. I’m not sure what the regular price was two years ago. $4.79? I don’t recall the price ever breaking the $5 mark. And I’ve tended to wait for a sale to stock up. I’m not planning on stocking up this year, although I do expect the fortune cookies to go on sale next week. Maybe $6.99?
No matter. I bought one box for nostalgia sake. These are still the best fortune cookies in the country. Someday I want to stop by their outlet in Seattle.
