Our Deadlands game got cut early to partake in Knox's Halloween Party.
Which by the way it turns out after teasing him about being a big baby for the past several weeks I came to realize I really did break his thumb at the last EOS event. Which he tried to walk off and sleep off until he finally went to the doctor for. He told people at work all different stories as to how his thumb got broken - even in a mechanical bull riding accident. Before he finally admitted that he got hit by a girl with a foam sword. Which had several of his friends asking me at the party how I managed that. I'm so sorry!!! I did make him brownies though that hopefully will ease some of the pain of not being able to give anyone a proper thumbs up for weeks.
Anyway after several failed attempts to come up with a costume a last minute trip to Hot Topic had me buying a shirt & tie that I was able to build the rest of the idea around. I even got Cordy & Jana to join me in the theme, the Friday before, as they hadn't yet come up with a costume. Some productive last minute sewing, scrounging of closets, and craft work and voila! The 3 of us were from various Howgart houses. Too bad we didn't have someone to play Ravenclaw.
I was Gryffindor, Cordy played Slytherin, and Jana was Hufflepuff. Not bad if I do say so myself. And it was a lot of fun. Turns out Tara played a Witch too - oh if only we could have gotten her to join our theme!:)
Wes & Jayne played each other. Which consisted of Jayne tucking in his shirts and hiking up his pants and borrowing Wes's hat. Wes borrowed Jayne's shirt and left it UNTUCKED!!! This was a big deal. Then they proceeded to make fun of each other all night with their antics. They had to stay in character for as long as possible. Jayne finally broke with an exclamation of how much he really hated me! I win at life! Sorry Jayne.. love you!!!!:)
Dawn wore the one costume I always told her I'd kill her if she did. Apparently she had sent me an emailing begging me not to that I didn't get a chance to read. Still as soon as she walked through the door as
Samara I started screaming for an axe! Creepy kid that makes me want to stop watching TV totally NOT COOL!! It's just plain wrong!
Yes, that movie freaked me out!!!
Oh and Xander was Speed Racer. It was just hilarious. Best was the car ride over to the party where we "fit" 6 people into Wes's car. Xander's evil plans are well laid out in advance - having Wes & Jayne change personalities was sure to break them. But insisting the 6 of us ride in a car had me sitting on his lap for the ride there. And between me & Cordy we had the goggles on his mask fogged up! That'll teach ya! ;)
The party had the typical Beer Pong - which I stayed out of. However the darts I played. Knox I'm so sorry about your wall. But seriously a dart board on the wall of a room - you gotta expect accidents like that. Jelly shots!! Yay, always room for Jello!!! Something called Woozy - which I've never heard of but I think Xander & I won a game of. The rules are still a little fuzzy to me. And then back to Cordy & Gunn's for grilled cheese sandwiches (What? We were hungry!), late night chatting, until finally they had 7 people crashing over.
Oh and the words "Love Wookie" were bandied about. Awwwww so cute!!!!!:)
Ah..good times!!! :)
And for anyone who is interested I took pictures:
The King's Halloween Party Aren't we silly? ;)
