The (birthday) party on Saturday went well despite my attempts to sabatoge it by forgetting to tell anyone about it, sending out invitations at the last minute and, in some cases, forgetting the important bits of info like where and when.
Folks got into the theme of "bring a beer you've never had", and there were many varieties that I hadn't tried, either. Fortunately, I had multiple beer-sharing buddies and was able to sample 10 new beers (with more stored away in the fridge for later!) In fact, folks were so generous that half of my fridge is beer and I have little room for food!
At the request of my friend B, I made some vegetarian buffalo chicken dip (which he's talked about since the last time I made it three years ago!) Fortunately, I had the forethought to prep two, both of which disappeared quickly.
Late-night record spinning also seems to have become a tradition. My friend H brought some albums that we talked about over the last couple of months. We even got some dancing going!
I'm looking forward to the next one (in a few months!) The latest homebrew, a weizenbock, will be ready by then, too. Yum!
