I met my 365 Beer Challenge on Tuesday night at a book launch/birthday event organized by my friend, Tammy. My 365th beer, Peak Organic's Maple Oat Ale, was tasty but not milestone-extraordinary. Maybe I should have ended (rather than started) the evening with the cask-version of Ola Dubh Special 30. It's expensive price tag and rich, whisky-infused flavor would have been fitting. Oh well.
The special guests of the evening (besides Tammy), were authors/bloggers Christina Perozzi and Hallie Beaune, who were in town to drink with folks, talk beer, and sign their new book The Naked Pint: An Unadulterated Guide to Craft Beer. The already eventful evening was made extra special for me because I also won a copy of the book in the raffle at the end of the night. Maybe now I'll take a bit of a break from sampling beers to read about them instead.
